You thought Sony and MS fanboys were bad...

Apple console fanboys will destroy us all.
Oh god no. I'll grab an assault rifle, we have to stop it in it's tracks!

Honestly, I don't think we need 4 consoles on the market at one time. It's just too many, especially since the majority of games are cross platform. However, with that in mind I would certainly buy an Apple console instead of a Microsoft console. I guess I'm slightly biased in that aspect since I really dislike Microsoft and its buggy products.

Fuck off apple... how can they look at the current situation with consoles and think "hey there's room enough for one more"? Unless it turns out that apple have bought out microsoft and Sony, and so their console will be running against the nintendo console only, i shan't buy one... ever.

(Actually thinking about price, an iPhone can cost nearing £250, right? So the console would cost a whole hell of a lot.)

So you're willing to blow your entire life savings, college fund, and put out a second mortgage
just to afford this? maybe Microsoft made your brain because I see some major bugs in your logic.

Hurr Hurr. Intentionally ironic 360 fanboy is intentionally ironic.

I don't see this happening purely on the fact that Apple makes it's money on its hardware margins.
iTunes and the App Store do a TON of commerce, but the actual profit from them is not that large. Consoles usually sell at a loss right out of the gate, which is something that Apple would not do under any circumstance.

Bottom line, the Mac market is growing, the iPhone is dominating, and the iPad...well, it's going to be the fastest item to make a billion dollars in history, mark my words.

Apple is probably not going to do this.

Can you imagine all the hipsters entering the gaming community all of the sudden ? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
1995: Sony - Can you imagine all the mainstream people entering gaming?
2001: Microsoft - Can you imagine all the frat and jocks entering gaming?
2005: Nintendo - Can you imagine all the non gamers entering gaming?
2010: Apple - Can you imagine all the hipsters entering gaming?

---

I've been hearing "end is nigh" for a long time. The industry has changed, some of it good and some of it bad based on ones views. I've resigned myself to enjoy several games I buy every year and not worry about it any more.

the iHavenodevsupport is finally coming out!
Quick, buy as many as you can so you can DESTROY THEM ALL.
As stated above, it would probably be more complex than the PS3, thus much harder to develop for. It wouldn't have good exclusives because there are already established customers on the other consoles, willing to buy games. Any developers who work on it will likely shoot themselves in the foot. Maybe next gen, but honestly there are enough consoles now I don't want to have to worry about getting another.

I will wait for other people to buy it, and see what they think of the games. I will get it depending on how well it does.

How much would it cost?
$1,200 for a 16GB internal HDD. Plus you will probably have to buy all your games from the iTunes store, and most will be $60 super-HD versions of iPhone/iTouch apps.

Apple has tried this before. It did not go well. I doubt they are willing to risk such a thing again.

Plus, with the addition of Steam now, it makes even less sense. They are just starting to get into the computer gaming business again, why would they try and tackle consoles?

I would not buy it. Probably because it would make the PS3 seem as complex as a toothbrush, therefore ensuring that nobody will develop for it.
I'm just curious, so Apple tried to enter the console market back in it's hay-day?

That's hilarious, never heard of that. What was it called?

Pippin

Also, considering that the company is almost bigger than Microsoft, I would say its hay-day is now.

I won't buy it or not buy it until I see what the games are. I buy a console for the games on it, not for the console itself, and almost all of the games I like are supported by the xbox franchise. That said, I'll prolly stick with the xbox, but who knows.

Well since you have no way of knowing how much it would cost, your exaggeration serves no puropse but to make you look foolish. But to humor you, would I pay more money for a superior product? Yes. That's not at all a difficult concept to grasp.

I wouldn't buy it, because it would be bad.

It would probably cost about $1000+ and be overly aesthetic with the gaming ability of a Gameboy.

Not to mention that the community would be filled with Mac-Cultists and would be likely be filled with people and websites whose sole purpose in life is to badmouth PC's.

I can see it now:

"LAWL i r plaeing COD9 on teh *Insert Name For Apple's Console Here* an its r bettr than teh ps3 and xbox becuz !Stephen Jobs! desined it!!!!11!!1!!!one!!! HEIL APPLE!"
