I have to say I'm disappointed in their vision for a controller design. I mean, good on them for realizing the analog sticks ought to be directly across from each other (hint hint Microsoft), but there's not a single original idea here. I guess Nintendo has already cornered the market on consoles with pointlessly gimmicky controllers for this and the next generation.

Two days later...

"Only today super cutting edge Apple TV 4 only 400$ and comes with video games"

Pretty much the same thing that happens with iphones will happen to this.
Seriously? You honestly think Apple is unique in how frequently they release new models of devices? Have you ever bought any piece of technology besides your video game console?

More OT: I can't help but think this will end up as some sort of dark alternative to steam where you can only play the games apple wants you to in the way they tell you.
And how exactly is that different from Steam?

Whoa, easy there. I didn't think my comment needed explanation, but since you are so eager for one I'll explain what I mean:

I could mod all of my games on steam and install them on multiple devices with different operating systems and control formats. If Apple runs their gaming setup like all of their other stuff, we'll get one download with unalterable files locked in on their non-upgradeable devices with their first-party controllers.

Don't get me wrong, the apple stuff will likely be super user friendly, but the company has a proven track record of draconian tactics with their wares both hard and soft.

This doesn't mean that they are going to make Apple TV a gaming console, they just want a reason to get involved in another litigation. Just wait next they will sue Sony saying the own the patent on DualShock.
