Odd thread title, I know. But have you ever suffered through an April Fools announcement that made you want to weep? I just saw this. I knew it was fake from the moment I started watching it, but a P3 HD remaster that includes FeMC is one of my dream games.

So anyways, you ever feel like an April Fools announcement wasn't in the slightest bit funny and felt more like a kick in the gut?

I wouldn't say it wasn't funny but Game Informer once had an April Fools joke that there was a topless cheat code in Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball.

Now this was before I had my own computer if you know what I mean, so I was really excited and I almost bought the game before realizing it was a joke.

Personally I still haven't forgiven Blizzard for World of Starcraft several years back... :(

None of the April Fool jokes are very fooling. They've gone into a more sensational joke than a means to attempt to trick people.

For a bit I forgot what day it was and was excited to see an announcement for Ace Combat 7, Though when I clicked on the article and saw the full title was "Ace Combat 7: The Idolmaster" well, I have never wanted to slap myself harder than that moment.

One of my favorites places on the internet for april 1st was homestarrunner.com. But since the site pretty much went on hiatus it always breaks my heart to not have them update regularly. They just posted a new strongbad email yesterday, too.

It's a gut punch for me because I just loved the site and actually miss it.

I actually hate the holiday because I'm usually the perfect straight man for a prank, and I hate it. Pranks tend to be way too mean spirited. I like my friends, why would I do something mean to them? Why would they do something mean to me?

That right there is why you're always the straight man. Those who refuse to hunt are meant to be prey. You should find those whom got you last year, and pick one. Then prank them so hard as to make no one else ever want to prank you again. A fun filled day as you break them with shaving cream, buckets of water, and kick me signs.. and when they lay at your feet humbled and battered, you lean in to whisper into their ear two final words.. "April Fools.."

Ah, the Ender Wiggin approach to April Fools.

It's a nice idea, but I'm just not that mean. Thankfully most of my friends are nice enough to not prank me. :p

Right out my bloody window. Temps in the teens (Celsius) for a week, all the snow nearly entirely gone and what drops yesterday? The temperature and a goddamn blizzard!

Yesterday i was told that i would have to haul 40 bags of sand and half a dozen paving slabs into the back garden.

Earlier today, i hauled 37 bags of sand and half a dozen paving slabs into the back garden.

Some joke that was.

A guy I met at work yesterday was a big fan of the science community. He always hated April fools because he'd end up getting stuff like, "MIT adds finishing touches to world's first fusion reactor".

MF DOOM and Flying Lotus collab being a joke kicked me in the gut, especially the El-P and Thom Yorke features which I'll admit made it obvious it was a joke.

You're a nice guy. That's what all the nice guys say. I'm sure you're planning a super funny prank somewhere, though.

Oh, announcements? I came in because I thought perhaps any April Fool's joke would be good. But against my better judgement I will share anyway.

When I was 8 or 9 for April Fools my dad told me he and my mother were getting a divorce.

I hate April Fool's with a passion.

Cousin softly rubbed petrol under my nose before quickly dumping a bucket of near freezing water on me whilst I was sleeping. Roughly 1.30AM. Naturally I woke up with a start. Smell of fuel filling my head as he smiled wickedly, withdrew a box of matches... and started flicking lit matches at me.

Does the water bucket count as an 'announcement'?

The message was plain and clear; "Get out.. I hate that you're staying with us."

I REMEMBER THAT. That was a long long time ago now that I think about it.
