April Fools jokes that kicked you in the gut

That trailer in the OP depressed me in all the wrong places... especially that ending...

OT: I can't think of any that were too gut-kicking... But, I do not like how I can't "fool" anyone on April Fool's day... which is mainly why I tell nothing but truth and/or facts about myself during that particular day...

Other than that, I did get punched in the gut one time on April Fool's day... Still don't know what could lead to something like that happening in the first place, but I digress...

Yesterday i was told that i would have to haul 40 bags of sand and half a dozen paving slabs into the back garden.

Earlier today, i hauled 37 bags of sand and half a dozen paving slabs into the back garden.

Some joke that was.

I hope you left those bags outside to rot and whomever told you to do so had to deal with dragging back WET bags of sand.

I haven't been punched in the gut metaphorically via April Fools but I despite it since it turns an entire day into a day where you can't trust anything.

There was one in New Zealand though that deserved special props, they had an "April Fools Special" where you can trade in your old car for a brand new Toyota. Since the advert said "April Fools Special" most realized it's an obvious prank apart from one lady who went in and said she wanted the car promised. The April Fools joke was a meta-reversal, the joke was that they were serious about the exchange car. The woman drove off with a brand new car in exchange for her old one.

I wouldn't say it wasn't funny but Game Informer once had an April Fools joke that there was a topless cheat code in Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball.

Now this was before I had my own computer if you know what I mean, so I was really excited and I almost bought the game before realizing it was a joke.

I REMEMBER THAT. That was a long long time ago now that I think about it.

Was it Game Informer or EGM? It was some magazine that was really good at doing April Fool's jokes. They had reveals of Unkarted and Lego Halo at one point too.

It was Game Informer. I THINK it was a part of the Game Infarcer bit they do, iirc.
