Some of the admin staff at Escapist have dressed up like trolls and are haunting us... I hope.

A rather delightful April Fool from Terry Jones and the BBC:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/epeng001.shtml?src=ip_potpw

Hard evidence that BBC>[all other TV networks]

I think it only works in IE not Firefox, but its well worth a look.

I just saw that Penguins thing, but I think Youtube having every video as Rick Astley is my favourite so far

Apparently Virgin Blue in Australia offered standee tickets on their discount flights, at 50% off the fare for those who get seats. (And free calf massages.) Alas, the site now just reads "April Fools" and has a link to a real discount.

Google is running a joint venture with Virgin (UK) to create the ultimate off-site backup system: http://www.google.com/virgle. Google Mail is also offering a service that allows you to backdate email... and have it arrive in time.

Someone got to this year's BBC prank, which approaches the dizzying heights of their 50's "spaghetti harvest" prank.

Turbine's offering the "Battle of Amon-hen" expansion to LOTRO with a new PC race; chickens.

Bungie's tampered with their "Bungie Online" real-time player map to display Mister Chief [http://www.bungie.net/Online/Default.aspx]. I expect this is only the first installment.

More when I find it.

Let it be known: If there's a Rick Roll in this thread (or any other) it's a permaban.

The Kingdom of Loathing has been changed to the "Kingdom of Salad," full of veggie goodness.

At school this morning, we did a april fools joke on the security guards. We said that there was a fight in the classroom through the PA system. We had the help of our teacher of course.

Be advised that YouTube's poisson d'Avril is redirecting all "Recommended Videos" links on their main page to a Rick Astley single. (I'm serious. They're not... though rolling the channers does have a delicious albeit iron-y flavour.) I recommend caution when linking to any YouTube video today. edited to add: d'oh! totally forgot that this was in the original post. time for more coffee...

In more amusing news, discount airline Ryan Air is offering "Ryan Bare" adult-themed flights. Also in aviation news, WestJet is offering a low-cost sleeper service [http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/fpposted/archive/2008/04/01/westjet-has-a-little-fun-with-april-fools.aspx] by modifying its overhead luggage bins.

Kongregate put up a new card challenge and the game it links to is the Rick Astley video. Amusingly, it loaded a player in their in site system instead of pushing you off-site to youtube or something. I woke up at 3:30 am (not on purpose) and fumbled my way through the internet to figure out what Rick Rolling was.

World of Warcraft announced its console Molten Core game and the WotLK Bard hero class.

DeviantArt replaced everyone's avatars with Mudkips.

GG Kongregate though, I think it's my fav so far.

http://www.fark.com has a good one, that will randomly pop itself up when visiting the page

http://www.kotaku.com has gone on a cake binge

tho i have to say the best one is this http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath/features/bard/bardclass.xml

sadly slashdot hasn't topped their "OMG TEH PONIEZ!!!!1111" page from a couple years ago, they just have their normal joke stories

the sad part about this day is everyone is still fooled by jokes

Thank you Blizzard for another roflmao.

"The most physically imposing of these warrior races were the so-called 'tauren,' an anthropomorphic bovine genotype with super-human stamina, overpowered racial combat abilities, and bizarrely well-developed horticultural skills."

As I suspected Bungie had more up their sleeves, this time it looks like they're putting the fear of casual into hardcore players: entries on their jobs page [http://halo.bungie.org/news.html?item=22418] looking for a choreographer, a 3D UI artist, and a software emulation engineer experienced in porting from Hitachi 128-bit chipsets and Yamaha legacy soundchips.
