"I plan on studying music. Always have been rather interested in music and I've wanted to study it further for a while." Susan said, becoming a little more comfortable talking to Gabriel as she talked to him.

Her stomach growled lightly and she placed a hand on it. She gave an embarrassed giggle. "Sorry about that, I'm feeling a little hungry. I remember putting a bit in the fridge for at least myself. I think I bought something for us all as well. Let me go check."

She headed to the fridge and opened it, looking inside. It had a few groceries that she had bought earlier so they would have enough for at least the next few days. She grabbed a Sprite for herself and a sandwich, closed the fridge after herself and walked over to the kitchen table that was there. "It's not that I don't want to sit down beside you, I just think you should eat at a table. I have occasionally eaten inside my room when I lived with the family, though." She smiled towards Gabriel, then started to eat her sandwich and drank her Sprite.

((I thought that we would have already been room-mates for a few days. Or, at least fully moved in and what-not. Just finally really getting to know each other. Either that, or Micah had already been living there, and you were replacing his old room-mate.))

"Nah, I got it all. Don't worry about it." Micah said with a smile as he started to unload the groceries and put them away. "You can help me put the groceries away, if you want. After that, I can fix us something to eat if you're hungry. Anything in particular you'd like?"

Micah opened the refrigerator, and put a couple of 12-packs of soda into the bottom shelf, and a gallon of milk on the middle-shelf.

"Is there any particular way you want to organize the refrigerator? Like, what stuff you want to go where?" Micah asked, just in case she was obsessive about something like that. "Oh, by the way, it's very nice to meet you, Kiska."

After double-checking to make sure everything was where it belonged, Claudette made her way towards her bedroom door. She heard both of her roommates already talking, so she assumed that both of them had already finished packing.

She slowly walked out of her bedroom and made her way to the living area. Gabriel and Susan were indeed talking.

"Uh.. Hello you two." She said, her French accent quite apparent.

"Hey" said Lance nervously as he entered the living area, stopping just inside the door opposite to the frenchwoman and leaning against the frame, trying his best to appear casual and relaxed, lest his nerves show through and get him embarrassed. That had always been Lance's problem since home-schooling, for while he had learnt alot during his two years about both himself and the world, he had lost some of his social grace and while he had grown more confident over the years, he had never quite gotten it back.

"I'm guessing you're all new here too?"

((Ah. Sorry about that. The second bit about just getting to know each other sounds like a good plan. That, or Micah's been living there a while and Kiska just got in.))

"Okay, then," Kiska said, grabbing a few things from bags and putting them away. "And something to eat sounds great, but cooking something's up to you, I guess."
She looked at the refrigerator, "It doesn't matter to me what goes where, I'm not very particular about food. Even less it's place in a refrigerator."
"Oh, yes! It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Micah." She put her hands in her pockets and looked around the apartment. From the look of it, the place could become a nice home. She felt the folded flier between her fingers, and pulled it out. "Oh, right. I almost forgot about this." She unfolded the paper and read over it again.
"Have you heard of this 'Freshman Bash' party? I got a flier for it earlier, and it seems like it could be fun." She held the flier out to Micah. "I think I might go to it, do you want to go with me?"

"'Ello there." Susan said to Claudette. "Your name was...uhm...Claudette, right? I think I'm right. Nice to meet you again." She took another bite out of her sandwich, chewed on it for a little bit before swallowing it. "Finished unpacking? Me and Gabriel here finished earlier. Why don't you have a seat either on the couch by Gabriel or at the table here with me? I'd like to get to know you two better, seeing as we'll be living here for at least a year." She was smiling towards Claudette, being naturally friendly like she was.

She noticed a man come to the living room/kitchen and greet them. He had dark skin, not too dark, though. "Yeah, I'm new here. What about yourself?"

The ride from home towards her building was actually much easier that she thought it was going to be. It was a bit of a drive, three and a half hours from home, but other than that nothing really was too bad. Mainly though it was because of who was driving her down. Obviously her mother was in the car but driving was her father. She was much more excited about that than she let one since she knew her father must have taken some time off to help her pack and take her down here. It wasn't that she didn't care that her mother was there it was just she knew she would be, her father sometimes was a different story. He can't always be around due to his job and she understood that.

Her legs crossed in the front seat and the book of the week she was reading, Plum Island by Nelson DeMille, she leaned to the left of the car window as the glare from the sun shined along the pages. Her mother tapping her shoulder from the backseat of the explorer.

"We're here sweetie."

Harbour College

Trisha looked up out the front of the window already surveying the area. It wasn't her top choice but it wasn't her bottom either. It was right in the middle with the amount of scholarships she got, obscure and academic wise. Pulling up in front the building she got out, white blouse glaring in the sun and her heels clacking on the street as she walked to the back of their vehicle and waited for her dad to open the back hatch. Pulling out suitcase after suitcase mainly filled with, what she would call casual wear, and a few necessary items like her camera, laptop and one suitcase filled with books she had and had not read.

It was only a few moments and trips in and out the elevator till she was in her room. No glancing at the green flyer that was slid under her door a few minutes earlier. The suitcases on her floor and bed she looked around noticing that before her dad left he had set a box with a bow on it that read "For Our Future Specialist". She smiled not opening it yet and looked behind her figuring her the person she was sharing the apartment with would be here eventually but till then she should start unpacking her books and singing a song to herself...

Usually I'm humble, right now, I don't choose. You can leave with me or, you could have the blues. Some call it arrogant, I call it confident. You decide when you find out what I'm working with. Damn, I know I'm killing you with them legs better yet, them thighs, matter of fact it's my smile, or maybe my eyes?

Mark gave a grunt, and briskly walked down the stairs. He passed some open doors with congregations, some people lugging luggage through the area, and one room with some god-awful music blaring out of it. He ignored it, and quickly found himself in the lobby. He walked to the front door, and swung it open.

The Turret was a stereotypical club, a lot like one of the Trade Union pubs Mark had been dragged to during his teen years. He gave a sigh, holding a fresh copy of the times in one hand. He briskly walked towards an inconspicuous seat in the corner, and sat down. He gave a quick glance at some of the organizers, one or two students milling around, and what could have been a member of one of the bands getting ready.

He didn't really care, and quickly skipped to the finance section of his newspaper.

Connor was caught off guard by the girl entering the room, not hearing her because of the music. He jumped a bit when he heard her voice, but recovered his composure smoothly enough and turned the music down to a level they could talk over.

"Yep, co-ed." He said, stepping over an open box to get to her. If she had been listening, she'd have heard a hint of disappointment in his voice. "I guess if you're here that makes us roommates. I'm Connor."

He extended a hand out to her. "I hope you don't mind the music, because honestly . . . you'll probably have to get used to it. What's your major? I'm taking sound design."

Tori's red 1999 Dodge Neon came to a screeching halt in the Harbour College parking-lot, the blaring ABBA song that was almost drowned out by her voice came to a sudden stop as the car turned off, sending a quick text to Nathan about her arrival, she opened her door and climbed out. Her purple high top Converse shoes hit the hard cement first, skinny jeans and white t-shirt with bright colours scattered throughout followed and Tori was now officially in college. Taking in a large sniff of the air, she cherished the almost surreal moment, high school was over and she was about to embark in a new stage of her life. A stage full of late nights, stress, papers and learning, it sounded pretty lame but she couldn't help to be excited. It was college after all.

Opening the front door of the college with her back, Tori carried a large box of her belongings in her arms. She packed fairly light, her parents house wasn't too far away should she need something so Tori figured she would start off with just the basics, clothes, toiletries, cell-phone, it was all she would need for now.

Managing her way to her dorm, she dropped her box in front of the door and placed her purple rimmed sunglasses on her blonde head, large blue eyes reading the room number to be sure that this room was hers.

Opening the door she was immediately greeted with an attractive woman who was stocking the shelves with books, she was quite well dressed and Tori was pleased to see her roomate had already arrived,

"Oh hey! I'm Tori!" cheerfully greeting her new roomate, Tori shook the woman's hand with a warm smile. Her roomate was a beautiful woman, her smooth creamy skin was complimented by her golden brown hair and she was very well dressed, "Love the shoes, you look great!"

"You can call me Anya," she said, returning the handshake. There was the slightest hint of an accent in her voice. What was dominant in her youth had been eroded away by her time at school to the point where it was barely audible. "Um, yeah, I'm planning on majoring in English here. I guess more writing stuff than reading stuff, but that's the plan. That's cool about the music thing. I wish I could do something like that, but I'm not too technically sound, you know? Nothing above my iPod and my Blackberry."

She twirled her right bang, the black hair swirling around the slender maple colored fingers. "So did you see that party notice thing? Can you believe no booze? How lame is that? A party at a bar with no drinks allowed. It doesn't make sense."

I'm confused. Tori isn't in the same room as Anya and Connor. As far as I know.

"Yes, I'm new here. I just arrived a couple of hours ago, actually." Claudette answered with a smile on her face "And yes, my name is Claudette. Thank you for remembering it... Most people never do."

She went to the table and pulled out a chair, sitting down near Susan. Claudette looked over at Lance and realized that she hadn't met him before, or even seen him around. Maybe he was new too.

"What's your name?" She asked politely. "My name is Claudette Bellerose."

Joshua sat outside of the dorms with a cigarette in his mouth, he smiled as he saw the droves of people headed to the dorms. He recognized a few of them, mostly from the small town he had come from; other he had known because, well he got to know people, not by name of course, but he could still get things done.

There of course, was the matter of the non-alcoholic party they would all be going to; non-alcoholic was never funs so he decided it was time to make a call. He was gonna text Bryan; real tekkie of a guy but he managed to best Josh at the Tequila challenge which was reason enough for him to be cool. Soon through a book of texting, he had the contact list for his section of the dorm and soon he was typing up a quick e-mail listed as "A Drinking Party."

He quickly typed out, "
Code:
Come to dorm A406 for a real party so you're ready to go to the little party put on by the college. Password is "The Challenge," be ready to have fun.

A Friend
He sent the e-mail out to the list and if all went right, the groups would be getting their e-mails soon.

Throwing his stub of a cigarette on the ground he walked into his dorm to see that he had it to himself, sometimes it helps when your old parents had sent lots of donations when they were still either rich or alive. Well at least he got to live well. He began to unpack his life.

"Ehh, not a fan of English myself. Too much writing." Connor remarked, going back to his unpacking. "But go with what you love."

He dragged a box into his room and started filling his drawers with his widely-varying wardrobe, leaving the door open so they could keep talking. He scoffed as she mentioned the party, then looked back at her and grinned. "How much do you want to bet that the first party of the year is really going to be achohol-free?"

The reaction she gave to the no-booze rule was promising. Connor definitely didn't want to be living with some puritan who was 'above polluting their body' or some BS like that. Maybe he was lucky enough to be paired with a partier like himself.

His cellphone buzzed in his pocket and he fished it out. It was an email from a someone he didn't recognize, but he looked anyway. The message was a good one though.

I should have put money down on that bet. he thought as he closed the phone and put it back in his pocket.

"Well, I don't know if-" Anya was cut off by the ringtone blaring "Airplanes" in her purse. She went back over to the bed she had unintentionally claimed, fishing it out as she checked the message on her Curve. A smile spread across her face as she read the contents. All right. Knew it wouldn't take long to find something...or have something find me. Whatever, it all works.

She went to the other bag on the bed, the rather large one, and fished out the three bottles of liquor she had in her possession. "If your buzz was the same as my buzz Connor, I think we need to get these to that dorm room...wherever it is. Hoping you know that part."

"I like the way you think." Connor said, "Yeah, I can find that room."

He quickly walked to the door and gave it a kick so it closed and hid them from prying eyes that might glance in. Then he started to rifle through a few boxes. After a bit of hit-and-miss searching, he pulled out a pair of shot glasses.

"What do you think of christening the dorm with a drink?" he asked, "New room, new year. Might as well start it off right."

"That sounds like an awesome idea," Anya agreed. Since Connor had pulled out the shotglasses, she figured that called for her Creme de Menthe. Normally she had the white Curacao to partner with it to create a taste akin to that of a York peppermint patty, and the last of that was used up during her last party in Illinois. But Sourpuss was a chugging drink and blue Curacao needed to be mixed to be enjoyed, so Menthe it was.

She handed the bottle over to Connor, the green liquid splashing around inside. "Since you were here first, you can do the honors of pouring the shots."

Trisha was quite wrapped up in setting her books on the shelf as she continued lining them up not only in what was and was not read, but also alphabetical. She was continuing to sing her song until she heard the door behind her. Pausing for a moment she smiled slightly seeing the female walk in. Introducing herself as Tori, Trisha looked her up and down slightly before hearing the compliment. "Oh yes yes, thank you. You're pulling off the look as well. Not bad, by the way the names Trisha"

Trisha was never one to be always direct, she knew how to direct things at times. She went ahead and got back to setting her books placing the last few before glancing at the present her father left once more. She would open it eventually but she drew her attention back to Tori seeing a small amount of items. "Is that all you've got. You must be near here."

Hmm...I won't lie she seems to fall a bit into the white category for my tastes. Though I'm sure she could be a pretty good friend. Besides, screwing your roomie in the first semester isn't really my style. I think I'll stick the friend card for this one. We're living together may as well get along to the best extent. Besides, having good looking friends and roommates can be just as positive...as long as she isn't taken.
