I don't mind spiders in a game but I dislike them in real life. Especially as I live in Australia and we get some big fucking spiders here.

I don't mind them, and even have a kind of morbid curiosity to them. As long as I don't have to touch them, that is.
If a big one finds it's way into my room, I tend to stare it down for five minutes before bringing up the courage to catch it in a glass and throw it out. I never kill the big ones.

I don't actually mind spiders, I'll happily pick up a spider and drop it outside if it's bothering someone.

...Unless they're so big I can't fit them under the rim of a glass. Then I flail until it's disappeared and sleep with my guard-cats on duty around my bed.

I'm cautious around White Tails though, because it is still in debate as to how dangerous they are. It was once feared that a white tail bite will cause flesh deterioration much like a flesh eating bacteria, but is lately believe that to most people a white tail bite is basically painless and with no symptoms apart from mild itching, and it is a severe genetic allergy to the venom that causes the other complications. Either way, the evidence is still inconclusive, so i remain wary, and i catch and release far far away.
white tails bites can cause skin lesions, however, in VERY rare cases they can cause the necrotisation of flesh (this is actally still being debated), for the most part there is a bit of pain and swelling, in some cases nausea and vomiting. there is no treatment other than disinfecting the wound and keeing ice packs on it.

OT: I'm personally terrified of spiders in real life, and living in Australia, we get a lot of the dangerous ones, but thank god i don't have to deal with the funnel web.

I dont have any issues with the bigger "health bar" spiders like the Huntsman. Its the little skittery bastards that make my flesh creep.

As far as games are concerned ive never had an issue with them.....until I played LIMBO.

I don't mind spiders. There's a little one, not more than a 20p piece including legs that has been sitting around my curtain rail for a few days now. As long as they just sort of chill out I'll leave them be. Probably as a result I have no issue with them as enemies.

Now, the ones that run around all over the place, I prefer to relocate those. Especially one a month or so ago. As far as british house spiders go it was huge. It wasn't even like the space marine of spiders, it was the primarch of the space marine of spiders. I was made aware of it when I was going to sleep and it ran across my face. It then proceeded to run up and down my bed. I thought it was running away from me when it headed under my wardrobe as I tried to catch it. Turns out as I was looking under to see where it went the bastard was moving round the side to flank me. Finally got it out of the house when it found it's flanking area was a large flat wall where I could get a glass down over it.

But apart from old Leman there, I'm good with both real and virtual spiders.

I'm mildly arachnophobic, but my reaction is less flight more fight (after I get something to cover my hands with, lest I touch the vile thing.) In games, I don't normally mind. Some game spiders are fuggin' annoying, but the only ones that actually made me feel fear were in Dragon Age: Origins... *shudder*
