Are Aliens Real?

It's statistically improbable that we are alone in the universe. Or so my astronomy teachers tell me.

It is improbable, but at the moment it's impossible for us to meet them. I think that there are advanced species out there, but that they could care less about us. If they're anything like us, then they'll say "Oh, barbarians! We must enlighten them!", but then they'd get bogged down in red tape and decide "fuck it", and return to watching whatever the Joozians have put onto channel Blorg.

In the epic vastness of the universe, there is bound to be some form of life somewhere.
Probarbly several places I think.

And I would do anything to see what it looks like.
A distant earth like planet, with plant and animal life. Maybe like the Emerald Dream, no pesky humans to ruin it.
It would be beautiful!

Considering the vastness and infinite space of the universe, I'm somewhat inclined to believe that there's another form of life somewhere else completely unrelated to us.

After all, if such horrible beings as humans came to be, SURELY there's some goodness in the universe!

Check out basically anything by Neil DeGrasse Tyson or quite frankly anyone dealing with biology or space at this point.

I haven't heard a comment like yours honestly muttered since the mid to late 90's.

But to your credit you might be assuming we mean sentient or highly complex life.

Well, life by definition is complex.

I can honestly say that I don't know two figs about astrophysics. But when it comes to space, all I see is an endless radiation filled void that we shouldn't mess around in. And if there is some kind of mircoscopic life form out there, I hope it stays as far away from us as possible.

I tend to think of complex life as something you can see with your naked eye. At least whenever I mention it people say "What like a hamster?"

There is life on earth that lives in pools of water so poisonous that birds die just by landing in it.

Life can and does exist in situations so extreme that it boggles the mind.

There are fish that swim in streams of acid (they even have it on the documentary planet earth).

As for microscopic life and life you can see with your eyes, likely going to find it on one of Jupiter's moons (I believe Titan) in our lifetime .

I think that extraterrestrial life does exist and that there are space-faring races, though I think most of the U.F.O's spotted, in America at least, are test flights of experimental aircraft or aircraft that have not yet been de-classified.
It's probable that we haven't seen evidence of space-faring races because they see Earth as a tiny back-water planet filled with primitive violent maniacs, like the Deliverance style Georgia of the Universe.

Statistically: Yes.

Chance of at least ONE sentient species precluding/at the same time as ours: Probable

Chance of meeting them if they're sentient/modern to our level of technology: Infinitesimally small.

Chance of sudden realisation that all of our readings of the universe are out of date due to light travel, and us suddenly realising our galaxy is all that's left in a BIG CRUNCH universe: Just as probable.

Well, probability and thesher number o fother galaxies out there says life exists on other planets.

The images of other solar systems we get are at least a couple of thousand years old. By comparison our planet has only shown any sign of life from space in the last 100 years, when us humans began lighting up entire continents at night.

Even if there are hundreds of other planets at a similar developmental stage to us, we won't know about it until telescopes pick up the planets suddenly glowing about three thousand years from now.

Which is kind of heartening, because by the time we get to find out which other planets have life on them, we'll either have worked out how to live on this one without wrecking it, or be too dead to fuck up theirs...

I say that there is most likly some other life out there, it could be a simple as a germ. Aliens that fly around probing ass probally are not real, but it is possable. So yea, what do you think?

I believe in extra-terrestrial life, but the universe is so enormous I don't think humans will ever meet them. Also, please use correct spelling.

This might be true, but perhaps we already have? Who are we to know what they look like? Maybe they aren't even carbon based. For all we know the rocks on Mars are aliens, but seeing as they do not carry on the functions we decided all life on Earth must carry out, we may never know. That and they didnt exactly strike up a converstion on the weather with our rover.

yes because there are billions of galaxys around us and atleast 1 of them has to have some type of life.
