I believe life elsewhere in the universe is certain. It's a big place with a lot of planets and it's highly unlikely there isn't evolved life-forms elsewhere.
I believe microscopic life elsewhere in our solar system is highly likely, as we know bacteria are very tough indeed (since they live in volcanoes, acid and other inhospitable locations on Earth).
I believe it very unlikely that we will ever meet "intelligent life" like Hollywood-style aliens.
Why? Because it takes us humans so bloody long to get anywhere in space (40 years to reach Pluto for example) and we have a very fast rate of technological innovation and we haven't discovered faster-than-light travel yet; and any intelligent life that has viewed our species in the last couple of hundred years is going to want to stay the hell away from us, so I doubt they'll be coming Earth-wards were it physically possible for them to do so.
I doubt we will find other "humans" in space, as it is actually incredibly fortunate that mammals were ever able to take over dominion of the earth (Dinosaurs were superior in practically every way, it is only thanks to the asteroid/whatever wiping them out, but not all of the tiny mammals, that the furry creatures were able to progress along an evolutionary path). So I guess I doubt there are other technology-based civilisations in the "reachable universe" (it's a big place so anything is possible), but finding evolved life-forms is pretty likely (whether it be reptiles, hamsters or something utterly new and unclassified).
