Are any of the Sims 3 expansions worth it?

I understand this forum probably doesn't have alot of Sims 3 players, I just bought the game off steam sales and remembered the insane addiction I had to the first game on the Xbox... Much simpler times.

But, after buying this game I can't help but feel I only bought half of it, I haven't spent any of my free 1000 Sim points but I feel understocked. As in not enough option to buy. So escapist, is any of the expansion packs worth it?

I personally enjoy playing the Late Night expansion because it gives you access to an entire new city with night clubs, bars, buildings, and furniture. Its pretty fun but I haven't played any other expansion.

im going out later to get the late night expansion, i havnt played any of the others, and i might also get the tech stuff one just to get the electric guitar

Also, i would recommend getting some mods for it, i have like 20 installed, just extra clothes cars and hairs etc, gives more variety

The ambitions expansion gives you some interesting careers like ghostbuster and firefighter. So I would say its worth it.

hey i said earlier i was going to get it, and i did, so i played a bit and i thought i would let you know that the late night expansion is really cool, i also got the high tech and fast cars ones which or more just extra stufff than an expansion, and they are ok

but yeah i would recommend them, they give the game some more variety

I couldn't tell if you bought the Sims 3 on Xbox, so I'll say this anyway.
I don't know about expansions, I don't have any, but if you bought the game for PC, you can get all sorts of amazing stuff for free online, like at TheSimsResource.com.

So if you're feeling like you need new hair/clothes/cool throw pillows, seriously go there and make an account. It's a whole new game after that.
