I was born in Brooklyn, am currently living in Brooklyn, and will die in Brooklyn.

Haven't ever moved from one country to another, but having parents of two different nationalities made it so that I travel a fair amount. I guess it also opened me up culturally and gave me a better sensibility towards languages.

Well... I'm the son of immigrants, if that counts...

My parents came over from HK (still a crown colony at the time but sufficiently 'foreign', I guess) at different times and met in the UK, resulting in me and two sisters. Though we're all twinkies, so none of us have ever had an Oriental, much less Chinese partner.

I don't think I'd want to live in HK anyway, horrid place...

Anyway, Londoner I was born, Londoner I remain... -_-

Yes... from outer space.

People have so far been quite accepting as I appear to be a normal human - until I tell them of my true homeworld, that is. Then they laugh it off and quietly avoid me. Immigration control have never been a bother, though, since there's no precedent for off-world immigration, and no way to deport without breaching my "human rights".

I don't know, the Welsh accent is quite soothing so living there might be bearable.

That's a trap.

It's like a Siren song, calling you into the rock that is Wales.
Next thing you know, you're surrounded by sheep in a town named Wwwddrrrggwwwwdwdwg with no recollection of how you got there or how long you've been there.

I'm sad there is no one here that has immigrated to Canada thus far. I'm curious about easy or hard that process was, particularly for someone who isn't on their list of highly desirable jobs and doesn't care about voting in their elections.

I did, but as a child, so it was my parents who did the paperwork.

I'm actually moving to the US in a few months (a work transfer, so most of the paperwork is actually being handled for me yet again), so that'll be another experience.

I never felt at home in my homeland Belgium, because of a combination of the aforementioned Law of Jante, and being slightly too foreign and WAY too ambitious for smallville catholic creeptown. My family has a history of migration, so I knew it was a thing I could do. I just left (I work online). I found a city in another country that feels just right and more like home then anything ever, and I live there now :)
