Are Battlefield 4's Servers that bad?

I've been hear a lot about Battlefield 4's Servers, from how matches are broken, to it being unplayable, and so on. I was thinking of picking it up on PS4, but I've been hearing that a lot of those issues are on the Next-Gen and P.C versions of the game. Is that True? Should I pick up the last-gen versions of the game? or should I wait for it to be fixed.

You should just wait for it to be fixed. The last gen versions are so inferior (they look about 10 times worse than even the lowest possible settings on PC, along with smaller maps and player count) that it's not really worth it unless you don't have a choice.

On PC, it was really bad for the first 2-3 weeks. Now I rarely crash, and if I do, its only during map loading.

I haven't crashed yet, but I have been experiencing a lot of lag. I can't tell if it's my connection or the servers, but it's been irritating the hell out of me.
