Are Graphics better on the 360?

Hey escapists, I am the owner of a PS3, I used to own a 360 until the RROD. Well I recently came across some information claiming that the 360 actually boasts better graphics, is this true?
The graphics were originally one of the reasons I got the Ps3 instead of a new 360. Apparently many games that are releaseed across platforms look better on the 360. A case in point would be Bayonetta (a game i've really been looking forward to) apparently there is a frame rate drop and things get blurry on the ps3. Is this true with many other games? Don't get me wrong I love having a blu-ray player and I know that ps3 exclusives (wipeout, infamous) have much better graphics (correct me if i'm wrong). Anyway after hearing all this, and with my own dislike of the online service for ps3 (free of cost, decent community and general enjoyment) it all looks so uninviting and ugly, not to mention facebook, sky etc for the 360.
So please tell me I'm wrong, I was hoping the only inferior thing about the ps3 was its much smaller game catalogue. Oh and don't tell me that the PS3 has lots of potential because we all know that is crap (apparently ff13 will use 100% and it looks nothing special).

It depends on the game.

Some multi platform games have been ported somewhat poorly to the PS3 due to lazy programmers, which then means the 360 version is superior. To be honest, I think in terms of exclusive comparisons, and well done multi platform games, graphically they've both been equal so far, maybe a bit of an edge to the PS3 thanks to MGS4 and Wipeout.

By the way, choosing a console based on visual quality is really really retarded. If you want the best graphics available, be a PC gamer. Go by the games libraries and what appeals to you.

God fucking dammit, not a flamewar thread...

OT: Uncharted 2 is the prettiest game on a console I have ever seen and Heavy Rain looks even prettier.

And why the fuck would you get the most expensive console for the GRAPHICS!? I got the PS3 because of all the games I knew where going to come out, [sub]also I'm a fanboy[/sub], but graphics? Come one! Get a gaming-pc if you're going to be like that.

Stocked up with snacks yesterday and can survive in my bunker for about a month right now.

Let the flames come.

It's situation specific. Some games it is, some it isn't, in theory the PS3 is the more capable of the two and games like Killzone 2 and MGS4 would bare this theory out to a degree. But ultimately they're pretty similar as you're usually playing the same games with minor tweaks.

The differences aren't big enough to worry about, just get on with enjoying the games.

Depends on the game. PS3 is stronger than 360, and PC is stronger than both.

But because the architecture is easier on the 360, multi-platform games will be better on the 360. That's pretty much the way it will be until near the end of the PS3's lifespan.

I don't remember which games specifically, or the reason behind it but I can say I've definitely seen/heard about more than one multi-platform game ending up looking and/or playing better on the 360.

Anyway, the PC obviously has the best graphics. (don't quote me)
Take that parenthesis!

Of course the PC has better graphics, it isn't required to stick to a standardized set of hardware like a console.

Of the consoles themselves, it tends to be a toss up. Some games look better on the 360, some on the PS3. I'd say it was a matter of personal preference, but if you only own one console then you don't need to really worry about it.

Nothing looks any better on the 360 compared to the PS3, simply because the PS3's hardware is triple the power of the 360.

And I forbid you M$ fantards from correcting me.

Im not interested in starting a flame war, I just wanted an objective view.
I know it seems superficial but a video game is mostly about what you see on screen, and if im missing a few frames per second or suffering some blurring then I wish I would have payed less for better quality.
for example I just played assassins creed 2 and if that looked better in a any way on the 360 then I am not happy.
I played infamous, wipeout and LBP and non of them were anything special, in terms of content or graphics, i mean fair enough the draw distance in infamous was great but the game was unfinished, short and glitchy.
I'll probably just get a 360 when Natal and fable 3 come out.
Oh and regarding PC's, although mine is high end i have no games for it, there is just always something my computer has a problem with and wants to interrupt my gaming for.

Its not that im annoyed that the ps3 isnt better but its that apparently in some cases (all of them games i want to play), the performance is worse.

The ps3 has the slight graphical edge, according to the tech break downs that came out 3 years ago. The 360 has slightly better sound quality.

What that means is absolutely nothing. As far as game designers are concerned, they can make exactly the same game on both systems and the only difference in quality comes in how much time they devote to one system over the other. Here are some notable examples:

Oblivion looks better on PS3, Fallout 3 looks better on 360, Dragon age runs smoother on the PS3, Bayonetta looks better on 360.

And so on.

depending on the size of your tv, you cannot tell the difference in graphics

people are still having this debate???
