According to the President of the PC Gaming Alliance - LucasArts have practically no idea about the user base of PC gaming and LucasArts hasn't released one decent PC game for years.

Discussed in this [http://www.videogamer.com/news/18-10-2008-9693.html] article Mr Stude says that there's virtually no excuse not releasing Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the PC and that the ongoing direction of LucasArts is a very uneducated one towards PC gamers.

While I personally would agree to some extent that it is weird that the game wasn't released for the PC concidering that it's thanks to the PC platform that the Jedi Knight games exist in the first place, it is kind of peculiar how LucasArts defends their reasons why the game was console exclusive. I however don't really agree that they haven't made a good game for the PC for years.

What are your thoughts on the matter?

Hmm. I wouldn't say that they haven't released a single DECENT game. But maybe a few pc ports for their more exclusive games is a good idea, from a marketing standpoint.

If you think about it, LEGO Star Wars was rather successful, and that was a LucasArts game. I think what it really boils down to is pandering. People are talking about PS3 and 360, so they're releasing things for those systems. I've always felt that PC gamers were more mature and refined than console gamers.

Actually, now that I've said that, do you think PC gamers have a higher standard for games than console gamers? A "good" PC game could be "amazing" on a console.

Lucas Arts is excusable for not making a PC version since they probably dont have a team to make a PC version, particularly since they have been firing so many people.

On the flip-side, they made the force unleashed for as Yahtzee put it "everything with a screen".

Yes- the real reason that they never released TFU for pc was their fear of pirating (see Gears of War 2), but the reason they gave was that "PCs can never handle the supernatural processing power required to play this godly game!"

Hmm- I doubt that the layoffs had very much to do with the lack of making the game for pc as well, but you never know.....

I say the last nice Lucasarts game that I played was Jedi Academy in 2004- it was a nice and fun game. Everything after that has a very present feeling of commerciality, mass-marketing, and 'milking the cash cow until its teats are smouldering, blackened stalactites (or something like that).....

If Lucas have not released a good pc game in years or ever IMO why should PCGA or us even care about no Pc version shouldn't we be glad instead.
Res4 was a bad port but to me DMC4 more than redeemed them sure the Kb/m controls were rubbish but I didn't care I wanted to play it on my xbox360 controller anyway and it even had full support for every Nvidia AA settings.
So I got a the fun of a console game on the same machine I play crysis on.

Are PC Supremacists a bunch of fuckwads trapped in the past?

Also yes.

Edit: Excuse my language, but these threads piss me off, grow up, seriously.
