Are PSP's worth the money AND if so what games do you recommend?

My PSP has functioned as an MP3 player for a bit now but that's only because I've beaten all the good games released for it, which have been disappointingly few and far between. Also I love the internet radio feature because aside from NPR and BBC news, I have found some really cool underground stations and talk shows. I think I'll be playing Shattered Memories and Disidea at some point when I get the extra cash, and the PSP store has a whole bunch games that can be downloaded; many of them are throwbacks.

Buy a used one on Ebay and get these games:

Silent Hill: Origins
Jeanne d'Arc
GOW: Chains of Olympus
Final Fantasy: Crisis Core
Killzone: Liberation

If you like those types of games of course.

Perhaps I'm just odd, but my PSP has seen far more use than my DS (or my DS lite.) Honestly, there's been only a handful of non-crap DS games, where my PSP has had upwards of 30 games that I really liked. But if you've waited this long, hold out for the PSP2 and hope that it can emulate the PSP. Unless you have lots of old ROMs laying around, then get a PSP (1000 or 2000,) put a CFW on it, and play your ROMs.

It's a great system regardless if you hack it or not and those who complain about scarcity or "lack of good games" are simply not looking. It's a terribly under appreciated system that gets slack and a lot of ignorance thrown it's way despite it being nothing like it was 3 or 4 years ago when the "no games" argument was actually relevant. Unfortunately some people have not outgrown that mind set, all it takes is a little looking and research. I once thought the same about the Wii but when I actually bothered to LOOK I was horribly wrong.
Eh, maybe. I, for one, have done lots of research and kept an open mind. I did not post my comment lightly.

If there are still games I've missed I'll have to look into the matter again.

I played mine for a while, but I don't know... I got tired of it I guess.

I'd save you're money, seeing as you already have a DS.

Im just wondering because im thinking to get a psp to go with my DS in the future and im wondering is it worth the 180 bucks i have to fork over to get one and if so what games do you recommend for it.

I defently wouldn't recommend buying one but if you defently want one there is only one game I really think is good and takes a while to complete and that is monster hunter freedom unit

there good but it is not imperative you have one. there are better things in the world...no hand-held will beat the GBA.

probably the most action packed game for psp that involves bullets and russians, and has very fun multiplayer.
I see your FTB3 and raise you: Resistance Retribution, Syphon Filter series AND

Best damn SOCOM game on the system, and as much as I loved FTB3, TS curb stomps the FTB series into the ground with its game play.

Well, I was about to fucking say, but my internet god damn disconnected itself when I submitted the post. So instead of talking about each of the games, I'll just list them.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep,
the MGS games,
the God of War games,
Patapon 1 and 2,
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII,
Dissidia Final Fantasy,
LittleBigPlanet PSP.

it's a good thing nobody is mentioning Gran Turismo Portable. Cause man, I've never returned a game so fast in my life. And I LOVE Gran Turismo! It was such a waste of money, time, and hype that has been around since it was sopposed to be a launch title for PSP, not the Go!

EDIT: I soppose there is one reason to own it, apperently you can transfer all of yor cars over to GT5 (if and when it ever gets released)
