That depends. Are you one of those people who has a toenail that is three different colors and none of them are nail polish?

Why not? If I lived somewhere with a better climate than England I probably would.
yeah me too :( its a shame
Its definitely a shame, damn the English weather. Oh well, soon I'll go to Australia or somewhere hot and get the sandals out, but until then...

If you're a Roman.

No really, depends on your climate. I'm Canadian also, so there's only a few months of the year sandals are wearable, and I'm not a sandal person either (boots for all seasons is a pride of mine)

it depends on the place. in so cal, florida, and hawaii yeah its acceptable all year but mostly everywhere else if you do that people tend to give you weird looks. but if you're comfortable in it then do it and don't bother with others.

Sorry to sound smug, but as soon as my visas for India and Australia come then I can quit my job and head off for warmer climates. XD

Honestly, I'm looking forward to quitting my job more than the travelling - well in the short term anyway.

if the weather permits it then yes, i mean you CAN wear them in -40 degree weather but you might not have toes after a few minutes, even with socks on

i love wearing sandles, i'd go barefoot at all times if i could, but living in Canada means i have to wear shoes for a few months of the year

I live in the northeastern United States so no, that would not be appropriate at all. The only time it isn't appropriate is if it's raining, really cold, or you have nasty feet. Other than that it's all good.

Alas I (for some strange reason) only have sandals right now... in the middle of winter. Thus I have to walk to school each day in the freezing cold with my sandals on... Plus they are now falling apart because it seems these sandals weren't made for walking any particularly long distance regularly.

Here in Winnipeg, the weather doesn't allow for sandals. It's either overcast and chilly, raining, or snowing to your waist. There's about a 2 month-period where the brave can don their sandals. Not that I would; sandals limit my mobility, and you can't freerun in them.

I hate shoes. I wear sandals whenever I can. Even wore them in moscow until the snow and slush became prevelent. Now I'm in africa, and I only wear shoes if I'm going to some sort of fancy event. All other times = sandals. not the shoe kind, the ones that go between your toes.

Before you jump at me, I hate that "flop flop flop" sound too. I've learned to walk without making a sound, so back off.

Shoes are the cause of all those nasty feet and toe-nail problems. go without shoes and your feet don't stink either.

and RAKtheundead - Africans definately do the sandal thing. That or barefoot.
