I would say yes, even though it goes against my principles to generalize an entire demographic of people like that. I guess with games become more accessible to casual people, and therefore also, younger people, via cheap and easy to use consoles and less demanding titles going mainstream, the community will naturally attract younger people.
Personally, I find obnoxious adults to be far more aggravating. At least with kids you can chalk it up to not knowing any better or having shitty parents. There's no excuse in my mind for the proliferation of smartass adult players that go out of their way to try and ruin the experience for everyone else. Grow up and act your age, you pathetic wastes of oxygen.

It's not about us, the sort of people who hand around gaming forums. To us, they're annoying, but we can mute them. It's about people who aren't already gamers. Imagine being an older person, maybe sixty or so, and you want to get into video games. The first time you dip your toe into an online community, the majority of people you see are immature, vulgar morons. Or, even worse, imagine being a woman who's never played video games and wants to try, and you get insulted non-stop just because of your gender.Somonah said:

Yes surely. I never play online on multiplayer mode because I have some very unfortunate experiences from those immature kids. Myabe it's only the kids the problem of the gaming community. I think there is a big portion of aggresiveness in most people that participate in internet activities, or discussions.
I wouldn't say it's completely ruining the gaming community, but it's driving everyone into little "neighborhoods" of the few people we know who aren't cocks.

The point is that fast paced games (not violent, but just fast paced) tend to make people aggressive. I have noticed that effect on myself. For example, there's a great loss in concentration, I am way more easily upset and so on.
Now I try to keep that in mind, so I don't turn into a mindless prick. But my theory is that: it's not kids, but the stress attached to competitive gaming. That's why there have always been idiots in online communities
