Are their any other gay characters in games that aren't stereotypes?

I was watching this week's Extra Credit and I was wondering, are their really any other characters besides the five that were mentioned that prove that video games can handle the questions of sexuality seriously? No, the Sims don't count because the player can make any gender go on with any other gender, but it is hard to say that they are really characters since the player can only change their personalities so much and you can't understand a work they say anyway.

You could probably argue that Female Shepard in ME1, if you chose liara, wouldn't be a stereotype.

Given that the only way of defining someone's sexuality is looking at a list of people they've been attracted to - I'd say the only characters that have a defined sexuality are the stereotypes - and even then, they may be hiding their rampant...heterosexuality.

The only game I can recall having played that had a prominent gay character was Enchanted Arms, and that character was so annoying he was the entire reason I stopped playing after about an hour, so no, I can't think of any.

Pretty much. I was tired of hearing of his love of Toya, and the singing with his saxaphone whenever he attacked. I turned the volume off after a few minutes.

Jun in Persona 2, Kanji in Persona 4(though I don't think he's gay), to name a couple.

It's just what they are, it never comes up as a major thing(though Yosuke is a homophobe for sure).

How many video games characters do you know that like lettuce instead of beans?

For all we know, loads of game characters are gay, just because they aren't stereotyped and don't mention it, we don't know.

Birdo in Mario 2. Originally it was a guy that thought he was a girl but that line of text was removed from American instruction manuals.

Not sure if this counts, but it is worth mentioning.

My main chick in DAO.

Harry Potter Lego: Dumbledore is gay and nobody even knew.
He isn`t really gay, he just had one gay experience
"Not that there's anything wrong with that." -Sinefeld

I think he only had one intimate experience and that was with another dude. That's pretty gay in my book.
Also, the woman who created the character said he was gay.

A gay dude left to live on a deserted island with no people around is still gay even though he can't actually sodomize anyone.

I could be wrong; I'm not exactly an expert.

Vamp and Volgin from the Metal Gear series are both bisexual but it really isn't a major part of their character. Come to think of it, I don't remember it even being brought up after "Pliskin" explains that Vamp and Fortune's father were lovers.
