So I'm desperate to find a good Mech game, but the only ones I've heard about recently are the Armored Core, (which is way too confusing), or the Front Mission Evolved game, (which just sucks on so many levels).

I have tried to download the free Mechwarrior 4 game from Mektek, but it didn't work (DAMN YOU VISTA!!!!)

So, did I miss anything? Oh, I have an Xbox 360 and a computer that runs Vista...

Also, for discussion purposes, you can comment about how there aren't any good Mech games anymore and how Mechwarrior 5 can't come out sooner.

In case you didn't know, I love Mechwarrior. Suck it Gundam!

Edit: So I'm looking for a game that has mechs vs mechs, something that doesn't force you into just one or two mechs but allows you control of at least a few, or else let's you customize your mech extensively, though I'm pretty sure all this is just wishful thinking.

Dammit, when is Mechwarrior 5 gonna get here?

If you just want mindless pissing about, go for War World (PC/XBLA). It's just kill/spend/upgrade/kill some more. Not much of a story though.

...wait a moment...

Why hasn't this been given sequels!? I don't remember a thing about the plot but painstakingly destroying an entire city, one building at a time, was really cathartic.

As for actual mech games available now...I'm drawing a blank. As much as I enjoyed Dynasty Warriors Gundam, I really don't think those should count since it's Dynasty Warriors using a different character template.

Chromehounds was a good mech game for the 360. Unfortunately the single player 'campaigns' are really just trainers for the online battles, and the servers were taken offline last year.

They actually made a sequel. But it's also kind of old and the MechAssualt games pale in comparison to the Mechwarrior games.

If you can afford the game and can figure out the massive controller for it I think Steel Battalion will be your thing.

The last good MECH game that I remember, and that I remember playing, was Mechwarrior 4 so sorry. :(

I do miss Mechwarrior.

Damn you, I was going to suggest that!

I've got a copy of Steel Battalion and if you can find a copy and an Xbox (not the 360) to play it on it's a lot of fun.

There is the MechWarrior: Living Legends mod for Crysis but I've not played it due it being a multiplayer only mod for a game I don't own.

I tried it but it seems the servers are down. Either that or Vista is getting in the way, again...

You might try a virtual PC for your Vista problem.
Google VMWare or Microsoft Virtual PC for more info.
Virtual PC's are programs emulating a different PC, so you can run multiple OS's on the same computer.
Once I've run a Windows 98 pc in a Windows XP pc on my Windows Vista PC(I know, but I was bored)
