So i want to know, do you know of any good online multiplayer communities. We all know what the online multiplayer is like in games like, CoD , WoW , LoL , Eve online etc... But are there any online multiplayers where people are nice? Now i know having a online multiplayer comunity is no assholes is unlikely if not impossible, but what about a community that is above average compared to others?

StarCraft: Brood War
Teamliquid is composed of 20% of trolls, but aside from that, the community is filled with mostly nice, respectful people
check out teamliquid.net, sc2gg.com, gosugamers.net

StarCraft 2 is a pretty good community too, it is just newer, so the ladders have a lot of bm (bad mannered) people on it.

White Knight Chronicles somehow comes to mind for me (if you do not include hackers) as they generally do help people but there are still some assholes there. Apparently some games have really good communities if you give them enough time after release for all the trolls and assholes to move on.

TF2 has a pretty great community when you find the right servers, and some of my best online friends come from Left 4 Dead.

Sadly, there's no such thing as an online multiplayer community that's completely perfect, and there's assholes in every single game.

There are a couple of multiplayer communities I've had no trouble with. Rift is particularly good, no spammers or pricks to speak of on the servers I've played on.

I don't know what other people do to piss off the competitive multiplayer gods though, because I have never, since COD4 came out, ever had a problem with the XBL online community for any of the games. I join a team deathmatch or free-for-all, and you know what happens? I always end up with in a lobby with a bunch of people who just want to play the game and have fun.

Runescape is surprisingly good. Most players are willing to help a new one. The Star Trek@ Legacy is also good, but it consists of about six players, of which I am one.

Fighter Ace was great before they closed it down. Just about 200 guys bombing the crap outta stuff and generally having a fun old time. Now I'm part of a online sim racing community, which is smaller but great.

It might be because of the niche nature of the games that they draw people with high levels of commonality.

The League of Legends community isn't nearly as bad as it's made out to be. I play pretty regularly and only get a real asshole once every 7-8 games. As long as you try and don't look like you're trolling, you won't get much hate.

Uncharted 2 has a good community. It's actually the only game I can think of that has a good community.

TF2 has a great community. It's an online fps where ppl are chill and won't ruin a joke server by massacring everyone just to boost their k/d.

Halo..........

God dammit. I don't spend time around forums centered around a single game but I would have to go with TF2. I saw quite a bit of it and people on it seemed nice.

Short answer there is no perfect community, long answer in any place of social interaction there will always be undesirable elements because almost no one is one hundred percent tollerant towards others, coupled with the fact that the internet tends to bring out the worst in people because there can be no phyisical repercussion for anything you say or do to others while online pretty much creates a breeding ground for abusive behavior. There are always people willing to be tollerant and those willing to be bell-ends, finding a balance in a community often comes down to how you treat others in the first place but even if your the most polite and well natured person there will always be somone ready to crap all over you for no reason other than they can.

Lord of the Rings online has a really nice community, this also kinda goes for DDO but the LotRo community is better.

I'm going to go ahead and say WoW on an RPPVP server with low-middle population. Some of the nicest people I've ever met.

I love Killing Floor, basically everyone will heal you, stick with you, give you dosh, help you get out, etc.

Most of it really is that they're saving themself, but it makes me feel good.
