Coyotes. I hear them all the time, and I've gone searching for them at night (Yes, I can be very stupid), but I've never found one in eight years.
ok im not telling this so you can do it by your self always have someone with you when you do stupid shit like what im about to tell you. leave out a pound of ground beef in open ground before sunset have balck lights lighting up the meat and sit back and watch them come and eat. now i recomend haveing a gun with you too btw.
Already done that... apparently, their love of meat is overtaken by their fear of people.

Uh. There are a lot of Dutch legends and beasts, but the one that instantly jumps to mind is about Witte Wieven, which is sort of dialect for White Women or White Ladies, which refers to the white swirls of morning fog that could be seen in the forests and over the bogs when those were still plentiful. They were believed to be witches or ghosts in common folklore, I believe.
We've got something similar over here in Sweden (though it usually refers to the morning mist found lingering on meadows), according to folklore the mist was actually casued by faeries/sprites dancing across the meadows.

Well, it is feminine in nature (Chupacabra is a feminine noun translating to 'goat sucker'). Maybe there's a breeding pair?
Perhaps it's got something to do with the fact that goats often are mentioned in tales and situations about bestiality? :p

"Hello there horned one! I'll be your goatsucker" XD

(yes I am in fact aware that I have a very twisted sense of humour)

We have a local legend similar to the Loch Ness monster. Her name is Bessie (a deliberate rip off, I'm sure). She was first reported in 1817.

She's reported to be snake-like, about a foot in diameter, about 30-40 feet long and a greyish colour.
Damn... You stole my monster.

I have a friend who swears he saw Bessie. Its fun to give him hell about it.
I stole your monster?! You're near Lake Erie as well?
Yup. Port Clinton, about half an hours drive from the power plant Bessie was named after.

Given how polluted lake Erie is, it wouldn't surprise me if some abomination is down there though...

Ohio. Nice.

I'm in Erie, PA myself. Though the lake is that bad here. The one good thing the zebra mussels did was clean the water. 'Course, now we can't get rid of the buggers.

Lucky you. Our part is still far from clean, though from what people have told me, it used to be significantly worse before I moved here, which is a scary thought.

Well, lucky that we can go swimming in relative safety (aside from the occasional E. Coli beach closing). Bad that we can't find a way to get rid of zebra mussles. They are an invasive species after all.

Champ, who lives in Lake Champlain. He is essentially another Lock Ness Monster. He has been sighted over 300 times and is important to that area of my state.

Look him up.

I have a cougar living in my city. Aside from that, I have no actual mythical creatures to claim.

Well, they say the Chupacabra has been seen in Costa Rica. Also, there's this other fellow called the Abbagoochie. I don't know what the hell it is. It's what Google told me.
