While its not rated M, I really would not let a kid play a CoD game. Its just me but I think the depiction of shooting violence like this might screw up a 10 year old. yes yes I know its a horrible thing for a gamer to say but personally I would steer clear of that. Plus you run the risk of turning him into one of those FPSer gamers who thinks teabagging is funny and obsesses about achievements and multilayer...

Maybe just go with D&D. Its better for kids anyways.
Did FOX news get to you or was the check written personally by Jack Thompson.

Unfortunately Mass Effect and Fable 2 are M rated (Damn those blue aliens for being so easy to.... have a heartfelt conversation with.)
Really? Mass Effect got rated 12 over here.
I guess they didn't receive the family values message from FOX news.

Ahh Fox News. Always good for a laugh.
Yes I know its a horrible crime for me to think that while people like jack thompson are evil scum there still may be a point where a game based around realistic combat may be a bit much for a ten year old [/sarcasm]

The fact is that some games should not be played by kids. I think thats for the parents to decide in the end but In my mind it goes beyond the idiots at the ESRB. Parents should judge when their kids are ready for which games and should look into the games in advance. Frankly I have no problem with a fourteen year old playing an RE game, but then again I have four brothers and know how much difference those three or four years make. If his parents are ok with it then thats their choice but I don't think that its a good idea for the kid simply because it CAN be a bit disturbing at ten. Thats my opinion and I'm sorry if that upsets you.

Go for original xbox games. There are a lot of them, their cheaper (so you can get more) and a lot of them are better. Blinx the Time sweeper is a good game.

You are not going to find many good T rathed games on the 360 (except maybe Nuts and Bolts) but the original xbox has many.

Point taken, in hindsight probably not the best way to state it, but I do know people who think that ten year old kids should be allowed to play Diablo. They should have to wait till 11 like me.

That's a good idea, though I disagree about there not being many good T-rated games.

Banjo: Nuts & Bolts, the original Banjo on XBLA, Kameo, Viva Piñata, Spyro, Rez HD, Forza 2, Burnout Paradise, Tales of Vesperia, Blue Dragon (it's not _bad_, just not excellent), Portal: Still Alive, Mirror's Edge, Worms (XBLA) and Skate.

Mortal Kombat vs DC is also rated T for some reason, but I wouldn't personally get it myself.

Then out of the supported Xbox ones, there's Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and the original Destroy All Humans. I guess there's more, but those work for starters.

Really? Mass Effect got rated 12 over here.

Still Tomb Raider is a fairly solid game for the 360.
It is rated M over here because America is really anal about sex in video games, and any game that even IMPLIES sex between characters gets a big fat M rating. Really, the ONLY reasons why Mass Effect is rated M over here is because of a very brief sex scene and the fact that you can do it as a woman with a female-looking alien, meaning homosexuality. This stuff would slip through a PG-13 movie no problem, but again, video games are still an unknown to most people and everyone assumes that it is mostly kids that play games, so our ESRB is ungodly strict over stuff, particularly if it involves nudity and/or sex...Because while violence might be frowned upon by American parents, the concept of something natural like sex is about as taboo as it comes...

Hell, I'm 19 and my mom still nags at me when she happens to see an R rated movie in my collection with "nudity" or "sexual content" in the rating description. My point being, the reason why it is rated lower in the UK/Europe is because you guys aren't nearly as anal about sex as Americans are.

Pun totally not intended.

STEP 1: DON'T LET YOUR PARENTS WATCH FOX NEWS!
STEP 2: Show your parents Bejeweled on a cell phone. Wait for addiction.
STEP 3: Progressivly get them addicted to more casual games.
-In danger? Catch them watching FOX? Show them Peggle.
STEP 4: Eventualy, they will find games fun and not mind posion at all.
STEP 5: "Parents, I want [M rated game] for [holiday]." "Sure honey!"
FIINALE STEP: Play.

Or get Mirror's Edge. Great game.

Wow......I'm surprised that NOBODY has even mentioned any racing games at all. NONE!!! Tons and tons of really great racing games on the 360. Grid, Dirt, Forza Motorsport 2, Test Drive Unlimited, and on and on...
