are there useless animals?

I was reading a post in the topic : "Why are insects and other small creatures the subject of so much hatred?" and reposted with an ending sentence "why are they still alive? do they surve a purpose?" and thought, are here animals that really, have no reason to live? their only use is to annoy?. even spiders and bees have uses, they eat other bugs, to end overppulation, or make honey, and impregnate (other word for that, couldn't find it) flowers and trees.
but like a wasp, i don't see a reason for them to live...
even lemmings have uses! they serve as food for many animals!
that brings me to the following question, are there useless animals?

Mosquitoes are the deadliest animals in history and serve no purpose except as population control. Any animals who eat mosquitoes have plenty of other insects to choose from. Basically nobody would suffer if they went extinct.

As a species they deserve to live, but if they get in your way and you kill them , the ones who didn't get in your way live on and reproduce creating hopefully more that don't get in your way and survive.

There are no useless animals, all animals have been engraved into some sort of cycle , if you take that away, over population may happen, or a decline in population of other animals.

I'm not sure if there are any useless animals.

But believe me when I say that in nature pretty much every animal contributes to the ecosystem in some way.

Remove one animal and it fucks up the whole system in some way.

However, I would sleep easier at night if I knew ninos de la tierra (Potato bugs for non-mexicans and spanish speakers) were extinct *shudders* hate them.

They are probably food to another animals, that gives it a sort of reason, no more snail, less food and a possible decline.

As for my animal, I'll go with any and all of the deep-sea fangly fish. The only purpose they serve is being absolutely fucking terrifying for no discernible reason whatsoever.

Cicadas. They only come out once every 17 years so no other species depends on them for food and they eat nothing while they are here. Completely pointless

A lot of people would, they are population control and we are in a very overpopulated world and it is getting worse with the population growing and resources thinning... well you get the picture. We need those population control animals or our resources would run out WAY too fast.
