Depends on which mythology you most identify with. I prefer World of Darkness vampires, so... yeah. No matter how hard they work to constrain the Beast within them, eventually it breaks free.

Vegetables and Animals are equal by the way.

Myth buster tried to measure electronic frequencies to "disprove it", but it makes no sense why they would use it. They have shown that plants use brain wave frequencies.

That -doesn't- mean a plant thinks along the same lines as an animal, it just means that plants have just as much consciousness as any animal does. If you have ever studied some plants within the world, such as those mushrooms in south america that control a specific animal's mind, you would know this.

The only difference is that the plant doesn't physically make a sound we hear on a conscious level when we kill it, or injure it. As such we can't tell that it is in fact just as conscious as an animal. That's why you don't have plant rights activists.

Cows aren't people. Vampires are little more than parasites. A human can live without a cow, a vampire can't live without a host.
cows are people to cows. if they could think in enough depth they would think we're not people, but the smarter and/or more naive ones would say what I just said.

Modern vampires? Yes they are truly evil. The way they teach young girls to become codependent needy useless wives of wife-beaters is absolutely horrible.
Hey wait ... do those even count as vampires? The definition's been skewing so much lately that it's difficult to tell anymore ...

Well, when I think vampires I think the old time ghoulish versions and the real life animal ones. Either way I wouldn't say they're evil. More than anything their particular tastes and instincts make them a serious pest or threat.

All the modern sexy versions? Evil. They actually go out of their way to play with people's minds and then savagely kill them. There are a few that are more grey area since they sympathize with their prey but not many.

Well the whole drink blood/eat beef comparison doesn't really hold up that well. While yes humans kill and eat cows for their flesh, the vampire feeds upon his victim while they're still alive. This makes them less predator more parasite, which can make them a hell of a lot more creepy to some people.

Although as with any fantasitical being, it all depends upon what source you're looking at for whether they're good, evil, or somewhere in between. I like the whole idea of vamps struggling with the thirst; some of them giving in entirely, others controling themselves; but in the end unable to deny the fact that they feed on live, intelligent beings.

Are we evil for hunting for food? No we aren't.

There you go!
But we don't hunt me. Being a human, I care if you eat humans. Being a human, I don't care if you eat deer.

Depends on the vampire. One mythology believes them to be literally blood-drinking demons, another believes them to be semi-intelligent zombies, yet another is the Dracula/Alucard who thinks of humans the same way we think of cattle, then there's the kind that is human but driven mad by thirst for blood. Take your pick, there is no "wrong" vampire, not even the Twilight vampire. They just need to require human flesh/blood to survive, and it helps to be dead.

EDIT: forgot to finish. Some kinds can be evil, others are merely trying to survive. Dracula was evil, Vampire Hunter D and Blade(yes they're dhampirs, but they both need blood) are not.

But Vampires need that food. They have to eat it. Unlike Edward...

Yes, but not being a vampire, I don't really care about their needs, especially since their needs are likely to get me mind-raped, murdered, or afflicted with their undead curse.

Perhaps we can come to an agreement. Capri Sun will launch "human blood" in their product line (from willing donors) and they will stop trying to bite me.

No it's not. Sorry if you buy into the whole PETA "animals R peoples too" bullshit, but they are not. You have to draw a line somewhere, after all in their own way plants react to stimulus, even if they lack a nervous system. Jellyfish eat other animals, but themselves lack any kind of central nervous system. It just goes in gradual steps up from there. Until you come to the few animals that can identify that their image in a mirror is their image.

There is no way even that lowest sign of higher intelligence applies to cows. They might as well be walking, mooing, and craping bags of tasty meat.

it seems that these days all vampires are considered blood sucking psychopaths.?
One of the most popular movies of this time beg to differ.
Then again, that movie WAS complete bullocks.
Not really.

The main character in that movie did suck blood being a vampire after all. So check that box right off.

He was also a 100 year old guy stalking a 16 year old girl because she smells nice, and even through that is the least of the crazy I think we can tick of the psycho box as well.

I believe it is explained in Dracula. The Vampires are only evil in our eyes because they want to eat us.

I'm gonna go with the needs of the many here. You decide to kill a bunch of people to save your own as, that's selfish and evil.
But don't they have a right to live? Also, evil is one of the most subjective words in English.
