Are We All Mad Here?

Many people believe that to be sane you must conform to the norm, act as everyone else does. However, most people will have their own individual quirks, little eccentricities that make up who everyone is and even with these eccentricities which everyone has they are seen to be sane.

But what about someone who has no quirks or eccentricities, society decide what sane or normal is by how everyone acts in general. So, would that person be seen as weird or insane by being without that slight hint of insanity that everyone has?

Sorry, but can you give some example or scenario, where someone could be labeled "mad"? Is it when they like something that the majority of people don't?

To the general population, think about those you know and those little things they do which can seem a little bit off centre.

How can everyone be mad if you compare with the general population? Because then the norm would be to be mad, and since madness in itself is the defintion for mental unstability etc. (which in its turn is based on comparisons to the general populace) it doesn't make sense.

I find quirks and eccentricities define people, they create a sense of the individual, they make people more interesting.
I'd hate to like in a world where people had no hint of madness about them.

Personally I like to think of my self as insane, and quite often irrational. x3
