When you log on and begin posting on this site (or any other for that matter), do your inhibitions, personalities, behaviours and attitudes change in any way?

I'd like to think I'm basically the same, but I'm a lot more composed, as I have a writer's mind, and I cannot think of well-constructed prose on the spot to get across my arguments. I can think on my toes, don't get me wrong, but I can't word it nicely and I usually have to tie things together with analogies afterwards to get my point across

also, I probably show off a little bit more on this site, what with the anonymity of a forum meaning you have to try REALLY HARD to be recognised and respected

you?

On the internet in general, I let just a little bit more of my mind available to the masses. Judge for yourself whether that's good or not.

Well, like you, I'm more composed, but I usually am quite anyway, and I like to think I'm not that different.

Not really, I'm a bit more conscious of my wording, but that's about it.

Nope.

I'm exactly the same here as I am in real life.

I don't see the point in being something I'm not.

i'm still me i guess...though sometimes i take shameless advantage of the internet anonymity and let out details i would not discuss with strangers in real life.

Yes, because I have the ultimate power of being anonymous! If any of you knew me in real life, I would have to leave.

Real World- i keep the mind in a safe place slightly restricted from wandering

Escapist world- my mind is pretty much a free spirit using my fingers to spew out it's every thought

Hmm.. I'd say so yes..
However in what way? I just don't know..
I let out the inner nerd, speak better or at least try to..

I guess its just because its very hard to give emotion behind text. I love to take the piss out of people, but in person you can easily tell its a joke. In text on a website like this? Bring on some flaming

I'm generally, in a strange reversal, nicer here than in real life (I'm a snarky bastard there). I'm also somewhat more open about my anime and video game interests; I'm not exactly secretive about those IRL, I just have more chance to share those here.

Only in what I say, because you can spend alot more time thinking of things to say then in real life. But I am basically the same here and in real life.

I think I'm slightly more of a jerk online, but not by much. I don't seem to lose my temper as much here though.

I'm mostly the same, as I'm generally fairly shy until I get comfortable around people. Online this translates into holding back from adding my 2 cents to threads if someone else has already said what I think better. In both places, I keep from talking as often as I actually want to. I'm actually trying to change this, at least on-line!

Nah, I'm pretty much the same guy on and offline. The only difference in real life is that I don't think over what I'm about to say several times like I do when I'm in the middle of typing something.
