According to wikipedia, the "#1 Source of Knowledge (lol)"

Hypermobility (also called double-jointedness, extreme-flex, hypermobility syndrome or hyperlaxity) describes joints that stretch farther than is normal. For example, some hypermobile people can bend their thumbs backwards to their wrists, bend their knee joints backwards, put their leg behind the head or other contortionist performances. It can affect a single joint or multiple joints throughout the body.

Many people claim to be double jointed, most of them incorrectly. How about you? Are you/do you think you're double-jointed? If so, why?

______________________________________________________________

I personally have a slight case of hypermobility: every joint in my body can be popped/cracked. For some reason, the cartilage in all of my joints is extremely flexible. Because of that, I can pop/crack, AT WILL (though in some cases only a few times in a short period of time), my toes (repeatedly), ankles, knees, spine (multiple discs at one), shoulder (yes, I can ACTUALLY move my arm out of my shoulder socket to some degree, but it hurts like hell if I pull it to far), neck, jaw (annoying as hell), wrists, and my fingers (repeatedly, so it's not the same as regular popping. In fact, in the same movement as closing my hand several of my fingers "grind" together. Strangely, I can't snap my fingers because of this). And I can do each and every one of these without any external force; i.e. using my hand to pull a finger/toe, etc.

As I said, I can do all of this at will, usually several times in a row. I usually only need 10 minutes before I can do it again. And they're extremely loud compared to regular popping.

Yes, this is hypermobility because my joints "stretch farther than is usual."

I dunno. I can bend just my fingertips (like, the rest of the finger is straight) which seems to freak most people out.

I can move my fingers back like a mad man, but that's due to me having a decent pain threshold in my hands. I can force it, but it hurts like a **** and I can't write/type for a couple of hours.

lol I was a constant source of freak-outs when I was in High School. In the middle of class, I'd just pop a couple of joints, and everyone would stop what they were doing and look around like they heard a ghost or something lol.

This makes you a freak? I guess Rick James should've named it Super Freak(s) then.

Everyone is a freak to someone or something.
It could be that your skin is the wrong shade or texture or it could be that you don't have enough fur and walk on two legs (likely what your dog/cat thinks about you)or you have the wrong religion or having a religion or no religion is what makes you odd. All in all, yes, I'm freaky to someone/thing.

I can crack my knuckles over and over again. The only reason I stop is because my fingers get tired after a while. I can also move my big toes and pinky toes up/down independently of the other toes however I please. Though I dunno if that's impressive or not. No one else in my family can do it. *Shrug*.

I'm not double jointed (anymore), but I can stretch the skin on my arm abnormally far, like this:

You can't imagine how hard it was to take this picture.

I see the problem... the bottom half of you appears to be made out of varnished wood... that is peculiar.

I dont think im double jointed. But everybody thinks my thumb is gross because i can bend it all the way back. I believe they call it a 'Hitchhiker's Thumb'? Im not for sure if that means its double jointed or not.

So THAT was the tingling sensation! It all makes sense now.

Kudos to you as well. Such a great anime. Glad to see some other people here know about it as well....usually whenever someone has a avatar from the same thing as me i change it immediately but DTB is so awesome i refuse to change it. Lol.

I can stick my arm completely behind my head.
Most people when they try and put their arms behind their head, they end up with their arm in an upside down V shape. I can keep going past that by turning by shoulder joint completely back on itself.

It tends to freak people out.
