I have no idea, I play some games on hard? I'm called a cheater in FPS games often? I beat Halo 1 and 2 on the legendary settings co-op and not for those who are into that. I'm not competitive and such so I can't really say I'm looking for that nonsense exactly, fun is more important than rank.

I am an all around gamer. I can beat a game on the hardest setting with ease, but then the next game I'll play i cant beat easy mode.

I'd I'm okay. In some games i suck, in some, i don't.
I played Mw2 pretty good, had a 2 K/D. SO i guess that's that.
Oh yeah, I also played a lot of L4D2, pretty damn good at it, i guess. Well, not versus, don't really like to play it, but I'm pretty good in co-up. But of course, in the end, it all depends whether or not your teammates are good or not.

I'm... alright.. Oddly enough, I'm good at games I don't like... I'm damn good at DoA4 (Won a tournament at a con once) but I don't like playing it much, whereas games like Black Ops which I like playing, I'm only average, if that.

I'am unbeatable at some games like Mario Kart 64 (except from Wario Stadium 'cause I can't do the shortcut trick)or Super Smash Bros but I ain't that good at some FPSs I play lately.
I remember when I was playing Halo on my Xbox I would pwn my friends at split-screen system link matches! :D
But I then tried Quake Live, and still after 2 years of playing it I find dudes that make me feel ashamed and I usually end up with something like 3 Kills 39 Deaths in that game.
From what I understand,I'm good at undestanding well and fast the mechanics of a game, and memorizing the levels/maps,but my accuracy sucks. At PC FPSs most of the time I end up being at the lowest positions in the list of players at the end of a match.

I'd say I'm below average. I can't completely suck at games and manage a solo completion on heroic in every Halo game and a co-op completion on legendary in every Halo game except 2 (with a partner who's a hedge better than I am but only a hedge), but my reaction time isn't good.

I'm even worse with any kind of PVP, and I can't do fighting games or platformers to save my life because I lack the coordination.

I'm pretty good at shooters 1st or 3rd -> beat Black Ops on Veteran and after alot of practice I've brought my online from .80 k/d for the first 3 months up to a 1.3 and my average weekly in Team Deathmatch is now 280-400 score per minute and 1.5-2.0 k/d (best week had a 428 spm and 3.6 k/d).

I've always been much better at Halo than CoD beaten all the games on Legendary. Reach was BY FAR the biggest pain in the ass to beat, the elites are just ridiculous in it. Online I've been pretty much amazing at it. Originally in Halo 1 I was the best out of the 8 people I'd regularly play against then I moved around when 2 came out and didn't have Live to play it so I went to a LAN party got my ass kicked by my new friends and realized I needed to step it up so I got Xbox Live and started playing. After about 2 months of practicing online I was the best person at the next LAN party. By the end of the Halo 2 era most people thought I was cheating cuz I could snipe so well while moving with such a high sensitivity that most my shots literally looked like I shot a wall and headshot the person on the other side of it. At that point everyone said I should join the MLG but I figured I'd need a team for that so it was out of the question for me to actually go pro.

I'm pretty skilled at RTS's but no where near good enough at RTS to actually compete against pros by any stretch of the imagination cuz I tend to suck early game but am unstoppable at late game in SC 1&2 as well as LoTR:BFME2

RPGs are my true favorite genre. My first RPG that I got into was Star Ocean 2 on PS1 then I played FFVII and VIII beat all of those then I got Morrowind on Xbox and it was no longer a contest for what my favorite genre was. I figured out how to get 5000 gold in that game within 5 mins of starting a new character so I could buy them gear and make them pretty strong without ever leaving a town till level 15. You'd think that I'd be a fan of Fallout since FPS and RPG are my 2 favorite genres but no I actually hate it cuz my skill at shooters means absolutely nothing since it's more about the weapon's stats than my skill. However I'm a big fan of Borderlands and Mass Effect but can't beat ME2 on Hardcore I like charging in too much and not hiding behind cover. I'd try sniping in it but only having 10 rounds in the only sniper worth using means I run out of ammo long before all the enemies are dead.

AT the PS2 I KICKED ASS. AT Star Wars Battlefront 2 on it, I KICKED ASS. At Single-player games on it I... you know what is coming.
AT PC... Yeah... not so much XD My PC skills only show at some very specific games, on certain modes and parts of the moon's cycle. For instance, most of the time I suck at any FPS on PC, but Crysis Warhead I beat SP on Delta many times over, and in Instant action (everyone kills everyone) my KD ratio was not great, but I could so consistently get a kills quickly enough that I was generally at the top few places of the server.
And I own my one friend at Unreal Tournament 3, despite the fact that he often plays it at his home and I have touched it for less than three hours my entire life. I love seeing that 3-1 kill count in my favour in a game where I am still getting used to the UI :p

But for the most part on pc and new consoles, I suck. Badly.

I'm apparantly above average on music games, so I guess that makes me good at them, plus I can hold my own reasonably well in something like CoD etc on a good day xD

But honestly, more than anything I'm best at music games because you can't do something like this by mashing xD

My k/d on MW2 and Black Ops was somewhere around 0.85 so I suppose I suck. I'm not that bad on single-player, though.
I think Im about the same as you on my CoD k/d but i have to admit alot of times ill play an objective game and actually DO the objective which many people play thoughs types to sit back and camp the objective to get their k/d up. just had to get that out there.

but i have to say if your on a gaming website chances are you play video games enough to be above average just from shear practice at it. and it seems i have the same syndrome as most people here, im good are 2-3 of the "hardcore" genre (RTS,FPS,RPG,fighting) but suck ass at sports games. however I would point out that ive only been "awesome" as in won tournaments and been close enough to the top of a leader board that you dont have to scroll down in one game the rest I wouldnt consider myself to be really good at (no ones offered to give me money to play it so Im obviously not that good).being "awesome" in your own opinion in games is like being a high school football player, your awesome at it around your friends but your probably not going to be drafted into the NFL.

to answer the actual question however. games that i like to play but suck at are probably stealth games, i get to itchy to kill some one to care about being patient. i can get through them fine but i always feel frustrated the whole time and will never attempt them at the higher difficulties.

Overall, I'm great at RPGs and FPSes, not so great at RTS games. I was all right at fighting games (loved Soul Calibur II, tried to master it at the arcades) but I don't have modern consoles so those are out for me these days. Naturally, I love my MMORPGs (City of Heroes and Champions are my two favorites) but those are strictly PVE on a team.

The only thing I'm good enough to take online multiplayer PVP with are team based FPSes. That said, I can usually top the server score boards in any FPS I bother to put more than a few days in, and am willing to do the dirty work to get an objective taken (ie playing the medic nobody will pick). I like to think I'm the kind of player people like to have on their team: the guy who does his job without being asked and will play smart rather than be stupid kill whore or be the guy that runs the Bradley IFV off a cliff.

I haven't really given two craps about any online FPS for a long time (as in PlanetSide '04 long time), but any game I DO decide to get good at I will go all the way, ie "Playing to Win" level professionalism.

Nope, I'm really not great at games, never was. I'm okay at WoW, but mainly because I actually pay attention when fighting a boss. I am especially terrible at 2D fighters, despite having played them for decades, and despite the fact that I was incredibly obsessed with SFII as a kid. I play most games on easy/normal settings, I don't play games to be challenged these days, I just play them to enjoy them.

Here's a good test:

"Do you make more than $30,000/year playing in tournaments?"

Y: You are good at games.

N: You Suck at games(me included).
There are different levels of "Suck" though, its not as black and white as pro or noob, its a sliding scale with your grandma at one end and some top pro at the other.

As for pros, well they tend to be very good at one genre, or maybe even just one game. The gaming enthusiast will have a medium-high skill level in all genre and all games, So they're not directly comparable.
