I'm 21 and I've been gaming since I was 6. I have the Crest of Hyrule tattooed on my back and I donno where I'd be without games. However, that doesn't mean I'm a particularly good gamer.
I've played through Mass Effect 2 several times on normal difficulty, but on hardcore? No no no no. Y'know the part, half way through, where you make your way into the supposedly dead Reaper and get ambushed by a load of Collectors on platforms? Can't do it, nope, not a chance.

My point is, for all of the love you have for games, are you actually good at Halo, DIRT, CoD, God Of War or Portal?
Sure, we all have our strengths. For example, it's a scientific fact that I am unbeatable at Crash Team Racing, but I am rubbish at almost all first and third person shooters, even though I play them quite a lot.

So, gamers, what games do you suck at, even if you love them and play them often?
FPS's on the higher difficulties generally run me into the ground.
I'm picking up on the total war games again, if only because I enjoy the feeling of starting highly disadvantaged on one of the harder difficulties, and then curb stomping my enemies.

Fun times when I routed 2 armies containing ~1000+ troops with my one unit of cavalry on Rome.

It depends on what you define as good. If you mean good as in 'do I have skill to play games well,' then I believe I do. I'm better then every person I know (which admittedly is all that many) in just about every game type I know of. And when playing online (which isn't that often as I hate online), I normally do at least fairly well.

If you mean if I'm good at gaming, as in enjoying a game and it's contents, then it's a little less clear. Lately I've been enjoying games less and less... as I have everything. But my lack of joy in anything isn't the subject. I still do like to visit the virtual worlds and explore their contents, but with each game that enjoyment seems to dwindle... oh well.

I'm significantly above average as far as gaming skill goes. Diamond league in Starcraft, K/D is usually around 1.5 in FPSes, I always start out on the hardest difficulty in games and rarely ever go down (Arkham Asylum is the only game in the past two years where I went to a lower difficulty, I didn't know the combat system well enough yet to time counters).

I'm in 10% best of ranked League of Legends players on US, and I used to be in a top 500 guild in Guild Wars.

So yeah, I think so.

26, been playing since I was 7. I've put an absolutely ridiculous amount of time into electronic worlds that aren't my own. Am I good? Well...

RPGs, I'm great at (which I realize is like saying you're the winner of the special Olympics). Even in the most cookie-cutter RPG a little outside the box thinking goes a long way. FPS/TPS? Not so much...I'm decent, but I won't be winning any tournaments at Halo or Red Orchestra anytime soon. I'm pretty much rubbish at RTS games (although there is an odd exception with Dawn of War).

I've been playing video games since I was 2, which makes 14 years of gaming.

It depends on the genre for me, for the most part I'm very good with shooters, I'm great with the RTSs I play (the Total War series), I've recently gotten good at a couple fighters, and I'm pretty good with racing games. I am terrible at sports games, RPGS, and MMMOS though.

Well, I often dominate when up against my friends in real life. Whenever we decide to split screen or lan in a shooter or driving game, I always win. People know not to vs me in games (I dont know if thats cool or just plain sad. Probably both) but I am not that great online, although my internet connection isn't the best.

But I would say yeah... I'm pretty good at games, for example, in Blops (Dont worry I hate the game but I still play it, may aswell get my moneys worth) I often have a k/dr of 11.0 so yeah, been playing them all my life, so I guess I have to be. My sister tells me of this time when I was little I was at a playground telling older kids how to pass scrabania in Abes Oddysee.

I'm fairly decent at most games. And run around like a retarded monkey in shooters. Quite entertaining really. but platformers which are my favourites i tend to have difficulty in. mostly when tired but still love them. And puzzle games.

I am horrible at racing and any sports games but then again I think they are incredibly boring. I have a slight interest in fighting games but I suck at them, especially street fighter; I can't do any of the good moves on street fighter to save my life.

I also love 3rd person action games like god of war and uncharted but cannot for the life of me beat the hardest difficulty settings. I can't get past normal on any god of war except for 3 (barely managed to beat it) since I had to persevere for the sake of getting the platinum. I actually have platinum on all 3 god of war games but only in number 3 did u have to beat hard difficulty for a trophy, in the first one you just had to do a speed run which was a lot easier than I thought.

I am a level 12 going on 13 gamer on PSN and have quite a few trophies (I have like 6 platinums), so I guess I'm pretty good but it's mostly from playing a variety of games.

Hi. I'm 31, and have been gaming since I played the shooter Parsec on my parents' TI-99 (no, that's not a calculator) back in 1984. I wasn't very good. Now, I only play games on the top 2 difficulty levels available from the start, with very few exceptions. I will normally do this even if it means I will end up putting down a game that I just bought for days on end because I am stuck. But the payoff is like nothing else. I just finally beat Medusa and leveled up some of my combos/abilities in God of War. Now it's a blast to play. I only ever played the Metroid Prime games on "Hard" and, while it sometimes got very frustrating, the payoff was always greater when I won.

As I said, there are exceptions. I didn't get very far playing my first stealth action game, the original Splinter Cell, as i was still getting used to the style of play and the numerous button-mappings, so I went back and played the first couple of levels on an easier difficulty setting before forging through the game on "medium," then "hard." And I didn't touch the difficuly level of Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I'm not crazy.

Short answer? No.
Long answer? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

My performance fluctuates wildly from minute to minute in pretty much every competitive game (be they RTS, FPS, TPS, or MOBA), and while I do occasionally pull off some totally wicked insane stunts, it's not something I can rely on. My shooting skills are in particular very bad at this. I generally can't hit people unless I aim for center mass, and even then I often have trouble. And sometimes I pull off a streak of headshots that is quite marvelous to behold.

I guess it's just out of my hands. Fate and all that.

I know what you mean. If you go back to the days of Red Faction 2, I was unbeatable. Take present day Left for Dead (and 2,) I'm surprised (shocked) if I don't take top spot in 70% of the categories. I'm a ninja with a knife in the Resident Evil games with S's in all the Mercenary scenarios with all characters (which I doubt if I could do again.)

However, there are times I suck. Days that I don't "get my game on." Heck, sometimes I back down from a fight in an RPG if I get more experience doing it differently (like Deus Ex:HR.) I've have a hard time with bomb rushing Deathclaws in the Fallout games (I get my shiz tossed.) I actually enjoy getting shafted in Dead Space and Read Dead Redemption. Epic deaths are sweeter sometimes than the best skill shots or time registers.

I guess I'm good at some games I played.
I play Halo and usually finish the legendary solo runs within two days and I'm competent in multiplayer without being a Jesus rank... :p
But I've never been able to finish five levels of Devil May Cry 3 on normal.

I know I'm good at single player games but I'm only good at multiplayer games when everyone is forced to use equal stuff

When i play "seriously" on TF2 i usually get 5 to 7 kills average per death, sometimes as high 10-12 kills a death.. Yes, even before all the FTP people came along...
And in COD UO i was ranked amongst top 5 players in europe..

Also im kinda good at car racing games..

But i really suck at RTS games, cannot for the death of me get the hang of it though i enjoy them at times..

I'm incredibly good at Portal, and I'm decent at most fps (my favorite type of game). Assuming they're on the computer, at least. Not a console gamer, except for the N64, for nostalgia sake.

I'm rather surprisingly skilled at rts and turnbased strat, but I kind of hate playing the games - not enough blood and action. I also suck at survival horror - the puzzles stump every time.
