Are you addicted to gaming?

Would you say that you are addicted to gaming? How do you play, when you are bored, do you just have a craving to game or do you just game for the sake of it.

I would say I used to be addicted as a teen, but realising it did nothing to help my academic studies, ended up stopping it, what I find now is that I am late to every party, I get consoles late, games late and despite the desire to game with people, rarely have the money to get new games, so by the time I do, they aren't popular anymore, take for example Fallout 3, I got hooked on it a year after it came out, byt then people were bored of it. Does this make me an addict regardless, maybe not, I'm not entirely sure, what I do know is that I can find entertainment in anything besides gaming, so at least that reassures me that I'm not a gaming addict. How about you guys, do you live for gaming? Played WoW unconditionally?

I'd say recently it seems less so that I am addicted... only because I take long naps during the day cause it's too cold outside of my bed >.>

I mean, if you venture into someones house and see a PS3, 360 or Wii just sat there besides their TV, do you feel an inclination to play it, see what games they have or even bring up a topic about it, that might just be a sign you're addicted.

Nope, I notice a Wii or any other console by my friends t.v. I just shrug and wait for them to propose ideas of things to do. But it helps that I now have a flow of cash (E.G. a job) so I can do other fun things besides gaming, so no I don't think I'm addicted I just enjoy the hobby a lot.

Nope, while I do play games a lot I think of an addiction as something you can't physically or mentally be without, and would place over important responsibilities. I wouldn't start playing games and skip out on work, or ignore feeding a baby till done an online match.

It... it's a wonderful feeling, but I can't do it for too long. I still CAN get sick of gaming if I do it all day long.

No way. I've never put it above school work or even some of my other hobbies (depending on my mood). I do get cravings to play, the same as I get cravings to listen to a favourite song if I haven't heard it in a while.

I'm also usually a year behind the curve. I like games, and they're a super fun hobby, but I can't afford to buy every one I'm interested in at release, so I usually end up getting them much later, when they're at least half the price they were the week they came out. It works well for me.

I play when I have time. When I don't have the time, I'm not gaming. I'd like to do more, but right now, that's not an option.

I used to be, clocking 50+ hours a week, last 2 weeks I havn't played at all, just to busy keeping my head down and working, planning, this, that and other stuff, funny thing is I don't really even miss it.

I'm deeply addicted.
At the moment I play games at pretty much my every waken moment. I take some breaks to surf a bit, like now, but they dont last for long.

Got a PS3 and Xbox360 and perhaps 50 games or more to them. Played WoW for most of the time during five years, but these days I can't stand it anymore. Have tried other MMOs like AoC, WAR and LOTRO - but they don't hook me up like WoW used to.

Im currently unemployed and havent done anything else than sleeping and playing games for 1 ½ year... and I have no ambitions to do something to fix my life.

I would say I'm more addicted to the idea of gaming...and the games themselves
I only play when I'm bored though, but when I'm not playing I'm usually bored. So ya, I play pretty much any game I can get my hands on and then play it until I lose intrest and move to another game.
