I was browsing about youtube taking a trip down nostalgia lane when I came across the intro for the old anime series Guyver. I remember this been the shit back when I was in school. Thanks to how expensive and hard to get hold of the VHS were, anyone that had one was instantly popular as everyone wanted to borrow them to finds out what happened next. They capitalised on this by releasing two live action films, but never a game?
What were they thinking? This series was made to be a brawler or hack and slash and would have been on every kids christmas list back in late 80s. Perhaps the technology wasn't there at the time (not that that's ever stopped anyone before) but the series was rebooted in the mid 90s right in the middle of the PS1 era when anyone could make a game no matter how flimsy the IP (I mean Deathtrap Dungeon, a game based on a choose your own adventure book gets made but Guyver doesn't?)
Anyway as the tile says, I'm a bit to old for this stuff so I'm putting it to the younger crowd: is the guyver still relevent and would you buy a game based on it?
