Are you aware of the Guyver and would you be interested in a game based on the IP?

I was browsing about youtube taking a trip down nostalgia lane when I came across the intro for the old anime series Guyver. I remember this been the shit back when I was in school. Thanks to how expensive and hard to get hold of the VHS were, anyone that had one was instantly popular as everyone wanted to borrow them to finds out what happened next. They capitalised on this by releasing two live action films, but never a game?

What were they thinking? This series was made to be a brawler or hack and slash and would have been on every kids christmas list back in late 80s. Perhaps the technology wasn't there at the time (not that that's ever stopped anyone before) but the series was rebooted in the mid 90s right in the middle of the PS1 era when anyone could make a game no matter how flimsy the IP (I mean Deathtrap Dungeon, a game based on a choose your own adventure book gets made but Guyver doesn't?)

Anyway as the tile says, I'm a bit to old for this stuff so I'm putting it to the younger crowd: is the guyver still relevent and would you buy a game based on it?

I've been waiting for a Guyver game for years, seriously, bloody years.

I have all the Manga, Anime and films (yes I liked the movies) but still no damn game.....

I always envisioned a Dynasty Warriors type game. Masses of Zoanoids to massacre.

As long as it had Guyver 3 available to play as then all would be well in the world.

Do you mean the guy who makes retarded solutions to problems out of the junk he finds lying around? Wasn't that Mcguyver or something?

Anyway assuming you mean the show that keeps the mythbusters in business then yes it could be interesting. An adventure game mixed with a third person or first person shooter/detective game.

What are you sniffing fella?

The Guyver not Mcguyver.

It's a Japanese Manga about a kid who finds some alien technology that was stolen from an "evil corporation" and it gives him power armour. It's a Guyver Unit...

Here, read it...

To old to watch it in a none nostalgic way. My days of peddling manga to school mates ended long ago.

lol. That's one of the funniest things I've heared in a while. But I can see a Columbo game from Bioware working better :)

I'll ed in a video so people know what I'm talking about.

I am deeply disturbed by your thread because I am just now watching Guyver for the first time and took a short break to come to the escapist only to discover this thread in the latest posts.
