Unless a company performs something unethical (by my standards) then I won't boycott them.

If they provide crappy service then it all depends on how badly I want something, or if there is a better offer/deal elsewhere.

If I dislike some of their products then obviously I won't buy them, but I won't boycott them on that principle because I can simply ignore the bad and buy the good.

I don't really "boycott" anyone per se, but I sure as hell don't like the Online Pass system that most companies now employ.

That said, for most game developers/publishers (EA/Ubisoft etc.) at this current point in time, the only products I'll buy from them are those under a particular franchise name, or if a particular game catches my interest enough.

EA: SSX, Burnout, Need for Speed

Capcom: MegaMan (though after their cancelling of Legends 3 and effectively the whole MegaMan name, they might be the closest to a proper boycott from me, mainly because nothing else they provide tickles my fancy)

Ubisoft: Rayman, though I might consider grabbing Assassin's Creed III on the Wii U if it intrigues me enough to look past their business practices (Online Passes and DLC that should be in the game from the start)

Activision: Currently, only the Spider-Man games, particularly the three most recent ones developed by Beenox. And I ain't buying the World of Warcraft expansions that I don't have until I get off my lazy ass and contact Blizzard about them getting my account unbanned because I got hacked months ago. Though I have found myself growing increasingly curious of Diablo III.

At the most basic level, I'm more or less on the same field as the "vote with wallet" crowd. If I like, I'll buy... eventually. If I don't, I won't. One less person buying games isn't really going to make companies like EA rethink their business model, anyway, as they make more than enough money as it is.

Wal-Mart, Apple and Ubisoft. I don't particularly like EA and Activision, but I'm not boycotting those outright. If I support the developer of one of their games, I'll buy it. Ubisoft generally develops its games in-house, so they're mostly out.

Not exactly a boyccot but I haven't purchased an EA game in sometime and I don't plan to in quite a while.
Its more because I do not enjoy their products and associate the company with bad games.

Capcom for horrible buisness practices(DRM for PSN games, On-Disc DLC, Pushing employees to the brink of death, holding franchises hostage and refusing to localize games)

But no one listens...

Hmmmm... Well I don't think that is true. Not going to argue with you there but from my source, that being watching my dying little town turn from 70ish percent unemployed to roughly 10 percent unemployed makes me question Walmart hate in general. All because they built a Walmart in town.

A lot of people seem to hate Walmart because it "closes" down small businesses with it lower prices, but if one looks closely they often notice that nearly 100% of the business in question were already over charging to stay afloat BEFORE a Walmart was within a 70 mile radius. I don't buy Walmart taking over all commerce in a decade or so, because it just can't happen logically. Although if it did I guess I wouldn't be too unhappy, least everything would be cheaper.

Edit: Oh damn I notice this hasn't had a post in a Week, I'm really sorry about paying the 5000 gold to raise this from the dead. Seriously I've been gone for like a week and didn't think before I responded.

But not going to get into an argument over this, I bow out. Believe as you wish to believe and I'll allow it. I am the neutral party. I shop at a Fred Meyers.
I am not trying to start arguing or nothing I just remembered we were talking about this and I stumbled by this info graphic so I thought I would pass it along if you still disagree that is fine but well ya here it is.

It is indeed a good graphic, the information is displayed well. I'm still not sure about the facts, given the source, but it is indeed well put together. No arguments, don't really want to. I've seen info one way and info the other so I just go with personal interest on the subject. Walmart appeared, my town's unemployment dropped, people were working, better all around in my own little personal universe. Might sound asinine, might sound idiotic, might even sound egotistical but hey it is that it is.

Really though I have recently decided that boycotting is basically the least effective way to protest a company or group ever. Boycotting doesn't even change policy until after the company has been forced to lay-off workers, which is bad, not for the company but for the workers. I'm not sanctimonious enough to stand up against my fellow man, just can't do it. If you want to protest something go all the way, join a protest group, hell run for office and really make laws against what you hate it is far more effective and likely more fun too. No sarcasm at all, if you really feel strongly about something try doing something rather than nothing anyone can make a difference if they act rather than do not.

So I've decide that; firstly I'm not going to boycott anything on moral, religious or ethical grounds. Secondly I'm going to finally buy Dead Space from EA. And lastly I'm not even going to bother caring about what a CEO's personal opinions about anything happen to be.

Best way to think of it is this; "fuck 'em but what they make happens to make me happy so I'll still use it if I want to."

Edit: Ah didn't see this hadn't had a post in a week, I've been gone and replied without thinking sorry 'bout that.
