I am not bothered at all as long as it's not during movies or at libraries, public bathrooms etc. or stuff like that.

There was a couple today in a little side street I walked past who were all as close together as they could be, their hands weaved over each other, and kissing, and I felt like I was intruding, but it was really sweet. Public Displays of Affection don't bother me at all when other people do them - and I'm mostly comfortable with it myself, but there's a few occasions when I'm not - like say if one of my partners wants to kiss me in the street at night and there are drunk people going past.

Well, I don't mind a couple holding hands, kissing, hugging, etc. in public. But I don't like when people spend minutes standing snogging in the middle of the mall. Or when they do it all the damned time. Or when it looks like they're trying to unclog each other's throats.

I'm fine with it. I don't care if a couple holds hands or kisses or anything; what I don't like is full-on making out in public.

As for doing it... I'm pretty much fine with holding hands and hugging, maybe a kiss.

Well after having spent 4 years in a high school where seeing two people making out furiously between classes every time I was in the hall was nothing odd, I've gotten used to it. Now if the couples like really going at it and its getting obnoxious to everyone around them, then I might take some offense to it, but beyond that it doesn't really bother me.

Although I was always tempted to fuck with them in the middle of it just to mess with them. Like stand behind one of them, tap them on the shoulder, and go "You're taking too long! It's my turn!". Even behind the girl, just so I can really fuck with them.

So long as they keep it to a reasonable level. Full on making out makes me feel out of place.

No. People can do whatever the hell they want, as long as it's away from me. I mean I don't mind if two people kiss good-bye or whatever, but when people are making out in public it's like... go away. Nobody needs to see that. Happens at school a lot, too. Save it for when you're alone, damnit.

To me it depends upon the mood of the affection. If it's people just being horny and grabby, then either find a park or get a room. If it's people being romantic and loving, then anything short of getting naked or having sex is fine.

meh, I'm not a very affectionate person... but no, it doesn't bother me when other people do it, or when my girlfriend does it to me. I really wouldn't be terribly offended by people having sex in public, as long as they were relatively quiet about it.

I do it myself.

Why should it bother you? It's beautiful and heart-warming. I should be able to show my love for someone where ever I am, and not have to care if I 'disgust' someone who can't express their feelings.

EDIT: Okay, I will admit that it is completely inappropriate to be making out and have your hands all over each other in a Subway shop... It's the people's responsibility to keep it at a modest level so as to help other people feel comfortable.

There's nothing wrong with a quick kiss now and again in public though.

to a point. Having sex in the street is bad. Honestly, it really doesnt bother me until they've either been making out for like, 5 min straight, or until the clothes start coming off, then it gets awkward.

I really don't mind it as long as it's kept sensible. What's sensible? Use your brain.

Though I'm reminded of a news story as told by Russel Howard of two gay men kissing on an airplane and one of the other passengers tried to get them thrown off because it was "unnatural". You know, one of the other passengers who was currently flying.

Meh, snogging in plain view in public is a bit wrong regardless whos doing it but if I see two gay blokes snogging I begin to feel physically sick. But things like hugging, holding hands and being a bit cheeky don't bother me.

Seems most of us are in agreement, just don't spend half an hour tonguing each other in public and we're fine, we don't want to stop anyone showing love, but damn, show a little restraint in public, and I don't mean furry handcuffs.

Hugs, hand holding, cuddling up in a corner, and kissing, it's all fine, but tongue deep snogging combined with full on groping...that's a bit much.
Well, you've pretty much summed up what I was about to say. I'm all fine with people holding hands or hugging and kissing... Just when it gets to the point where I'm sure one of them is going to pull out a condom at any second... I think "Get a room or go see a movie and sit at the back corner out of the way like normal people do" no need for it in public.

Well, I'm not gonna be grabbing my girlfriend's ass and groping her and shit in public, but I will show affection. The only exception is at our weekly DnD sessions, because that's the one time she doesn't want me being affectionate, just one of those strange personality quirks.

It varies depending on my mood, but usually it warms my heart a little. Unless they're being annoying about it.
And if I ever see a gay couple making out in public, I will take my hat off to them. Assuming I'm wearing a hat at the time. I may salute.

If it isn't me, then it's kinda off-putting.

But when it's me (rare, rare occasions) I sometimes go for it. Well, holding hands and cuddles, not full on necking.

Guess that makes me a hypocrite.
