Are you comfortable with public displays of affection?

Sadly enough, I do hate it when random strangers start making out and stuff in my eyesight. Like in public transport or stuff.
But there is a simple reason for that: I am too old, too jealous, too cynical, and it has been a loooonngg time since I felt the touch of the opposite sex x] so we all have our own reasons for hating or not caring...

Pretty much this. It's worse the "lighter" the affection is though. I don't want to see no cutesy snuggling or holding hands, that makes me jealous. Want to damn near fuck infront of me? Go for it, I'll just watch and save it for later.

Personally, seeing other people express their affection doesn't normally bother me. If things start to get slightly weird I can always just turn away and ignore it.
Myself, I can admit to being a little clingy... But honestly, if I find someone I truly care about, I don't care how ridiculous I look in public as long as I'm with that special someone.
Unfortunately I'm no longer with that special someone... And ironically, it may have had something to do with my clingy-ness >_>. *sigh*
Well, I can keep dreaming.

Short version: Public affection is A-OK with me (as long as things don't get too weird if you know what I mean)

When I'm with friends it's annoying when they do it in front of everyone, but holding hands, hugging and not completely groping each other is fine.

I don't like doing it myself because I feel awkward because I feel people are just staring at me and when strangers stare at me it freaks me the hell out. I went to Sheetz (a gas station/convience store chain for those who don't know) and I was sitting in my car listening to a radio morning show because they were finishing up a bit and this dude kept staring at me like it wasn't ok I wasn't out of my car immediately.

I usually don't mind it unless, and forgive me if I sound like a dick (it's because I am one), the couple is utterly disgusting. You all can probably visualize what I'm talking about. But it can be cute and/or entertaining. In fact, I remember some video on YouTube this guy made that was just a compilation of a bunch of public displays of affection that he had recorded. It was hilarious. If people are willing to do it in public, they deserve nothing less. It does change a little if it's people I'm with and the situation is innapropriate. That can get annoying.

But yeah, I usually don't mind it and sometimes it's heart-warming

As long as they don't do anything that falls into the second category I'm fine, unless I'm feeling particularly lonely that day, then I just hate them for having someone and being happy.

I was going to come into this thread and express my thoughts... but thanks to your post I don't have to. I pretty much agree with what you have said here to the letter. I don't have problems with public displays of affection, but... I'd prefer it if some things were left in a more private setting.

My school decided that the only form of allowed PDA is holding hands. Doesnt stop people from kissing though but ive never really seen people go past making out for a few seconds, so i dont mind it.

You have no idea how much I hate people sloppy kissing in public. It makes me feel sick, and it's why I can't watch Soaps or movies with kissing like that. I hold my boyfriends hand and cuddle him in public, but other things can be left in the bedroom.

I hold firmly to the belief that individuals who carry disdain for Public Displays of Affection (PDA) do so because of their own insecurities or discomforts.

I myself am in the midst of a long-term relationship and have no qualms displaying my affection in public.

One thing that pissed me off is when I was over at a friend of mines house sometimes him and his girlfriend would give each other massages and they'd always make sex noises while its going on and I'm sitting in the damn room. They don't do it around me anymore, because I told them to be a little bit considerate and knock that shit off when they have company around.

In Arabian countries we shoot them on sight. The moderate states like Dubai are very lenient and just put you in Prison for a week or fine you.
