I just started Deus-Ex yesterday, and I love it! Also Kingdom Hearts 3D is one of my most anticipated games of the moment!

So... I still have faith!
Just so you know my dear Watson, Deus Ex HR was developed mainly by Eidos, a newly-acquired UK subsidiary of Square-Enix. So I'm not sure how much impact they had on its development.
Wow! I didn't know that, thanks! I was quite surprised tbh when I saw the Square logo! Does that mean Eidos is gone!? :(

They do great work as publishers. As a developer...they're kinda meh. I still enjoyed XIII to some extent, but I didn't even finish it and I'll probably never pick it up again to do so.

Like you, I started on the SMT series with Persona 4. Since then I've played (and beaten) P3P, SMT: Strange Journey, Devil Survivor 2, and Persona 2 IS. I'm hoping to be able to get a PS2 again to play the Digital Devil Saga games and Nocturne.

I know that Atlus will always provide me with a quality game and experience. There's never any doubt about it. The same just can't be said about Squeenix.

No, there's still Eidos Montreal. I think Square-Enix is letting them operate at arms-length because they have so many different titles under their belt.

I'm not so sure I would say I'm "disappointed" with Square Enix, cause they still manage to crank out some games I enjoy, even if it's a collaborative one. But I have been annoyed with how they are handling their development for their major titles, which I think Jim Sterling addressed waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day. They tend to take so long developing some games that it affects the development of other titles, to the point that side games and sequels that are released for a series come off more as cheap filler to occupy our time rather than actual progression (Kingdom Hearts, I'm looking at you).

I can think of only 2 titles in the last 10 or so years that I thought was likeable and were touched in some way by them. Just Cause 2 and Deus Ex: HR. I've not played DE:HR, but it looks satisfactory to me. They absolutely ruined Supcom 2, and that alone is worth ignoring as much as 3 other titles I may have forgotten about in that 10 year span. I know some people loved Kingdom Hearts and TWEWY, but I just couldn't get into them.

No, I'm not disappointed. They have projects that need to be wrapped up and shipped, and they have engine tech that needs to be deployed or dropped, but they know all that. Their working relationship with Eidos has been reasonably successful so far despite some marketing gaffes, and I don't mind doing business with them.

I'm pretty disappointed, but am willing to forgive them COMPLETELY with the following requirements.
1. The World Ends With You sequel (very probable)
2. Kingdom Hearts HD Collection (1+2+Re:CoM)
3. Announce KH3 soon!
4. Release Versus13 on 360 (and PS3 of course)
5. Next mainstream Final Fantasy to be a great game (doesn't have to be perfect, but a blast to play)

THEN Square-Enix, then I will forgive you...
They just need to redo CoM with normal gameplay. The card system is utter shit and I'm certain it would be more enjoyable as a normal Kingdom Hearts game.

Other than that, I'm not really all that disappointed with them. I don't play final fantasy games (just can't get into them. And I mean any of them). Kingdom Hearts are some really good games (aside from Re:coded and Re:Chain of Memories, that is), and I've played a little of The World Ends With You and found myself enjoying it.

On a different note, as I was playing through Deus Ex: HR today I saw a poster for "Final Fantasy XXVII", which I apparently missed on my first playthrough. It amused me greatly.
