Are you emotionally attached to your game controller?

Eff yeah. My PS2 controler was wih me from the moment I got it along with my ps2 and is still with me on my shelf right next to its ps3 brother. I would be very sad if something would happen to it. I don't mean to sound odd8er) then it is, but I have slain so much stuff with my silver beauty and it never made things difficult for me.

That sturdy plastic frame where the cotnoler fits in nicely after taking it out of the box? Itss till there.. nailed to the shelf in fact so everytime I stop playing I can fix it there so it doesnt accidently drop.

I had a clear green N64 controller years ago that I was attached to (probably part of it was because it was my very own that my parents gave to me) but when my 'smart' brother decided to sell his N64 I sold the controller off with it. I think that if the same thing happened now, I would have kept it but back then I didn't really think about that.

With the PS2, my parents also gave me a clear blue controller which I still have and use regularly to this day. It's probably 7 or so years old now. The only thing wrong with it is that the left analog stick is slightly loose and sits to the right so sometimes the game character will start to walk to the right slowly. Fortunately, it only happens sometimes and I can make it sit back in the right position so it doesn't do that. This controller has gone through so much with me like Final Fantasy X, VIII, VII, XII, etc. (X and VIII being my favourite games of all time) I'll be very sad when it finally becomes unusable.

My parents last christmas gave me a blue ps3 controller and so now I'm fairly attached to it but, I don't really use it all the time because I tend to switch through controllers as the battery runs out and needs to be charged.

I also have an old basic pair of Microsoft keyboard and mouse that I would not want to get rid of either.

Yeah, my silver PS3 controller is MINE. XD None of my friends can use it.

Not really. I used to have a see-through blue controller for PS1, but even if it hadn't broken for whatever reason that I can't remember, it wouldn't be any good to me now. I thought about getting a blue Dualshock 3, but it's solid blue and I don't really need another DS3 anyway. If my current black one ever breaks, I still have another untouched black one that came with my slim PS3.

My current GCC has been modded for gaming purposes; the springs on the L and R buttons are gone to allow for easier powershielding in Super Smash Bros Brawl. This controller has accompanied me since my debut in the smash scene last october... I'd say it has considerable emotional value for me.

So is that a legal mod or are you just a cheater?

I've been through four PS2s but still have my first controller. I'm also kinda attached to my red 360 controller.

For my mouse, yes. Xbox controllers break too easily (analog stick sides get worn down to the point that they crack off.) My mouse however is several years old, still works great and its normal grey color is bleached white where my fingers and palm go.

I like to keep using the same controller, I label each controller with a player number (though I find using "my" controller more important than the player numbers). I'm not really sure why I do it, it's not like the controllers are actually mapped to a player number.

Strangely I have experience with the controllers I DON'T use getting loose and not functioning as well, while the ones I do use stay functional?

Nah, not really. Maybe a little attachment to my Razer Salmosa... but not too much.

Ah i felt that way about my logitech wireless gamepad for PS2 and my razer deathadder 3500, just cause they're both damn fine machines
