So borderlands 2 just got a proper trailer and a release date:
www.borderlands2.com
and I am wondering how many people are looking forward to this game, I really liked borderlands in fact its my favorite game (though not the best game I have played) and borderlands 2 just looks better in every way, more guns that are also more unique, more enemies that are also more unique, apparently also more class mods and shields that are more unique, a larger variety of mission types and a heavier focus on story. I mean the only way I could be any happier right now would be if they announced a collectors edition.

18 sep. couldn't come any faster. Dual wielding guns? That could be fun if its not just an action move or something. (Though it definetly looks like one..) Better melee would also be nice. And most importantly, end game boss. Seriously. Last one was...yuck.

Oh hell yeah. I loved the first game.

Assuming I can get at least ONE of my borderlands buddies to get the second game, I will be all over it.

Yes and no, I enjoyed what I played of the first game and it's DLC's but the story/story telling was shit and failed to keep me interested so I never got a chance to finish it.

With the engine remaining the same, hopefully they focus on scale and storytelling.

only the gunserker can duel wield guns due his ability, though I am looking forward to using axtons turret, it has a chainsaw, which would be pointless, but is still pretty damn awesome.

...-...chainsaw-...- damn awesome.
Couldn't agree more.

OT:But can he dual wield them all time or just during the ability? It'll be like Mordecai's cuddly birdy in the first game methinks. But,... doesn't matter, had se..guns.

only during his ability but if the guns are of the same type (i.e. 2 pistols or 2 shotguns) they get a accuracy bonus and if it is 2 different weapons they get a damage bonus, it may be the other way round.

well they atleast changed the pallete from brown, now theress brown, white/blue, green and grey.
Honestly this is what I'm happiest about, I loved Blands 1 and I only really noticed how striking this one looks after seeing the new palette. Couldn't agree more about a collector's edition, I remember Gearbox started a thread on the forums asking people what they'd want to see in one, so...

I liked Borderlands 1, I think the sequel can really improve what I hated about the previous game. I probably won't buy it, but I will be looking out for sales 'n' junk.

It's not a big "OMG MUST HAVE" for me, but I would definitely like to play it some day.

Yeah - it's actually really high on the "2012 games I'm looking forward to list." What can I say? I like games with lots of fun guns that you can play with friends. Also, they seem to have a very good critical process going on - they're aware of the weaknesses of the first game, and are actively working on fixing them. Also also, Anthony Burch.

I had a lot of fun playing the first one with a group of friends, and we've been talking about the second, but I won't be in a hurry to pick it up at launch unless the PC version is less of a wonky console port than the first one was. It was an entertaining game, but it was clearly not made with the platform I was playing it on in mind, at least not as their primary target. The additions/changes in the second game look pretty good in general, at least, which is encouraging.

As long as the gameplay isn't just, point and shoot until dead, I will be happy. the varieties of enemies and guns are looking really cool I have to admit. I'm gonna keep an eye on it.

I didn't even beat the first game :/
Soooooooooo repetitive and dull at its core features. Sure, the gun porn is fun, but there isn't really anything else in the game

Hell yeah! I can't wait! Hopefully Diablo 3 will be out soon to keep me pre-occupied until then.

Was very curious about the new character classes and was wondering which one I would pick.

...that is up until i saw Zero (a cyborg freakin ninja) in the trailer. How the hell do you compete with that?

The first game was fun until random people started joining your games, throwing modded weapons and shields at you, then leaving.

My only real complaint about the first game was all the quests boiled down to "go here and kill more of the same guys you've been killing since the beginning." Same problem that Rage had, it's hard to make a good story out of a FPS because that's always the problem you're going to be facing: repetativeness.

So I'm kinda on the fence for BL2. I fully admit that, while I was playing it, I did enjoy the first game. It just gets pretty dull after a certain point. I personally found the DLC campaigns to be more entertaining than the standard campaign...Zombie Island was hilarious and fun, as was Crimson Armory.

So if they can somehow make the missions something other than "Go clear out this place because we said so" only to have the next mission unlocked be "You know the place you just cleared out? Go clear it out again, but this time pick up some crystals along the way" then I'll likely give it a shot. If it's just more of the same just with some new bells and whistles attached, I'll probaby pass on it.
