Honestly, the consoles this time around are pretty casual by comparison. A lot of people who buy consoles mainly want something they can kill a few hours on. Though there are people who you could characterize as "Hard core", but the main target of these companies is similar to what Nintendo is doing, except Nintendo is more "Family Friendly" casual.NameIsRobertPaulson said:Good try but no.mcattack92 said:My only console, my Xbox 360 came down with a rather nasty case of 'Red rings of death' from which it was unable to recover from. All the consoles are tailored to a specific market, Wii targets the casual market, PS3 targets the 'Graphics' market while the xbox 360 is more for hardcore gamers.
Wii = Casual
PS3 = RPG/Fighting/
360 = Shooters
PS3 and 360 split the action category
Evidence? Look at each system's top games:
PS3: Uncharted, God of War, Disgaea 3
360: Mass Effect, Halo, Gears of War
Also, I hate to do this, but you can't use Mass Effect as Microsoft's top game, since it's on all platforms. The PS3 titles you listed are fine since they are exclusive.
As far as making the switch, I made the switch from the 360 to the PS3 after my second RROD. I refused to spend any more money in something so unreliable for the price tag. Though I will always get the PC version of any game first, if I have to get a console game, it's usually for the PS3.
