While on the Escapist or any other site for that matter, do you use your online anonymity to be someone that you're not? ie A troll, an overall ass, a nice guy, an intellectual, or do you just use it to be heard, because no one listens in real life?

On this site and any other, I am myself. I don't become a jerk because no one can punish me in real life. I don't troll for the "LULZ." I am no different online than I am in person.

I try to remain true to myself IRL, but sometimes, I get carried away..

I can say some crazy shit here that I can't around school, that's for sure.
As for motivation? I do it to be heard. Nobody listens to me..

I am very similar to how I am in real life.
I don't want to just say "This" so...

I find that the above statement illustrates my viewpoint accurately. :)

I am more open here about pretty much everything then I am in real life, but besides that, this is me.

I tend to watch what I say a bit more carefully, but that's pretty much it.

Typically I remain as intellectually and sarcastically charged in my real life as I do at The Escapist. I do tend to be significantly more antagonistic to people and have to cut down on the swearing. Which fucking sucks because there's nothing wrong with blurting out shit when your program fails to crash the computer and instead actually solves the problem.

I'm a lot more open and talkative (and argumentative) here than in real life, yes. Other than that, I'm not terribly different. I've never been convinced by that whole "internet anonymity" concept.

In real life, I'm pretty much the same guy you see here. Familiar face[footnote]Or so I would hope. :p[/footnote], doesn't talk much, tries to be nice guy, and has had it with flying monkeys... also, reuses the same damn joke over and over again.

Similar, but I would have to say more.. 'Extreme' or 'Pure' as far as personality goes, both the good and the bad are more surfaced.

People here seem to tolerate me as i am, and i'm not a jerk, so i'm not trying to be someone else than i really am.

Well, except for the fact that Lombaxes are not mentioned nearly as often in my everyday life.

aww *pat pat* <3

OT: Yeah pretty much. When I write in text I can formulate sentences and choose words better than I often do in real life. I also string together sentences better, but thats no surprise seeing as I am extremely adhd in person so I have a hard time continuing on one thread of a conversation without sidetracking.

The only difference between me here and in real life is that I am far more social here. Besides that, I don't really see a difference.

Pretty much the same. Here I'm more confrontational, because people are more willing to partake in intelligent discourse.

In real life, if I call someone out on their beliefs, they get all offended and use insults and logical fallacies. That bothers me.
