I am lucky to be where I am now. I do not fear death, but I won't let it take me easily either. I live life as it comes, and while I am young, and that is good enough for me.

I kind of welcome the idea that I will shed my physical form when the moment comes. I'm just weird and religious that way though.

I'm not saddened by it; scared shitless is more appropriate.
I'm an atheist, so I don't even have the comfort of an afterlife to think of. When I consider death, I consider an eternity of nothingness, and that scares me. I try not to think about it overmuch, but it really does scare me.

Philosophical view: Who ever truly dies? Our actions leave ripples throughout the ages, and those ripples will continue for ever, leaving a little part of us with all who come after.

Realistic View: I don't want to die yet. I'm not scared of it, I just don't want life to end quickly.

Im not so afraid of death itself, but i dont want to die because of what comes after. Mostly because im probably apeirophobic. Or in other words, i despise the concept of infinity. No matter what you believe when it comes to religion, its always the same; around 70 years here then, infinite dead.... i just dont like it

Only problem I have with death is how I will actually die. Aside from that, it comes as natural as porn on the internet.

Hell no. It's much better than outliving everyone you have ever loved or liked. Seeing them die around you while you go on and on seems like a pretty good definition of Hell to me. It's easy to think you want to live forever when you are young and haven't lost many people who are near and dear to you. But when you start losing close friends and worse, parents you love, you come to a very different way of seeing things.

And if you did live forever, what are your alternatives to this? One would be not to love or care for anyone, ever. The other is to keep getting your heart broken when those you love keep dying and you continue to outlive them. Hellish existences, either one.

I used to, but I don't really anymore, now that I've matured.
Don't worry about death- you only have this one shot, so enjoy it before it all goes away!

Not really. I came close to dying when I was five (black widow bite), so I came to terms with death REAL FAST and since then I've come to terms knowing. I mean, its an eventuality, so there's not point in letting it get you down now,

I hate not knowing who said this or what the quote exactly is but it is basically, "I have seen everything there is to see in this life, I guess it is time to see what else there is after it." Again, not the exact quote so not quite as powerful, but a great way to live.

I oscillate between wistfully wishing for immortality to despairingly pleading for death.

Really, CAPTCHA? dismod Published?

I discovered last year on the fathers side of my family have issues with aneurysms. He had on in his right Eye and his Father had one in his leg. There is a chance I could have it in my body somewhere waiting to go off. It used to be an issue I was depressed about but not anymore. I figure if it happens, nothing I can do about it now.

Talked to the doctor about it and they said it will most likely happen when I'm older. The chances of detecting it at 28 is 2% so I have to wait til I'm 40 to get the test. That's plenty of time for me to live my life.

Now being immortal\forever young at 21-30ish you could be a monument to the living. You remember those who made an impact on your (very) long life and write books on them. Living history as it happens or heck you can always 'forget' who you are via, technology or head injuries. It would keep things fresh.

It gives me a deadline (*haa*). Also, NO. Not in the least. I know that if I do things right, a my legacy could continue for a long while.

The "eventually" part is the thing that makes me not worry.

Sure it will suck, but the way I picture it is there is either an afterlife (which actually is very possible), or as soon as I die I... die. A dead person can't really be afraid of death.

Also, a very extreme possibility people being revived is gonna happen in another trillion years, so that's always a possibility.
