I have the unflinching ability to cause companies to ex/implode, I am still a frustrated musician poet actor and singer, I did meet my dream woman who I married. So nope I am not in anyway like I wanted to be when I was young.

Especially as I wanted to be either Conan or Elric I am too much like Frodo Baggins to look like either.

Believe me, it keeps getting worse.
How's uni? I know that Yr10 sucks massive balls, and Yr11-12 will only get worse, but somehow I think uni won't be so bad... am I mistaken?

Year 10 sucked hard but years 11 and 12 where great fun. Everyone who doesn't want to be there leaves and the rest of the students bond with the teachers meaning more talk and less work. That's why you see the grade 12er's crying and balling on at the end of the year. Year 12 is all assignments and not learning much; imagine a longer year 11. So stick around it does get better.

Uni's great because you get to learn what you want to learn about. Plus everyone there also wants to learn what you do to and pretty much have the smae interests. It was like going to a school full of PurpleRains.

What's crap is life. Jobs you want are hard to get and everything seems too far away. You want to show off now and do the work later but it doesn't work like that. But keep going and you'll get there.

You film De-Rez's stuff. No offence but a little film schooling wouldn't hurt. Simple white balancing, apature resizing issues keep popping up that annoy me. If you want to break into the industry it doesn't hurt to actually learn how to do simple stuff and even learn how to meet people and get jobs.

Well, since my aspiration is either achieve something great (or so horrific it can pass as great) or being a loving father and husband (hey, I'm old fashioned) then I have achieved neither. What I have achieved is

+several hundred models of varying manufacture, era and provenence
+ A sizeable vocabulary, effective communication skills and an interst in the workings of the human mind.
+ A dog, named Sasha.
+The odd friend here and there.

Not so bad overall.

So what? You're a poor father and an abusive husband then?

I had a dog named Sasha. If she's a German Shepard I'd be really freaked out.

I sold my soul to the Oil Industry... so no, I'm not.
You can't sell your soul, only rent it. If you're not happy, find something else. Life's too short to dread going to work.
I don't dread going to work, my job is okay and my boss/coworkers are all good people I just feel like I've compromised myself working "for the man" so to speak. I'm the only Left of Center/Moderate Environmentalist in the office, and I have a history degree instead of a buisiness, engineering etc. So mostly it just feels weird. Still, once I hit 30, I intend to take a year sabatical to try and become a professional writer, so we'll see if that can make my life any better.

But, for the record, what I wanted to be "when I grew up" at age 10 was Indiana Jones, so... I don't think that's happening.

Later on I decided I wanted to be a writer, but 5 years of university killed my creativity and I'm currently attempting to find some way to ressurect it.

I suggest that you get companies to pay you to do that to their rivals. I personally would find that to be kind of funny, especially if you always do it by accident. That way you're not an industrial spy, you're just paid as one.

I spent a long time wearing ripped jeans, reading literature, and parading about like I had a clue. It was fun and I miss it sometimes but...I ran out of cash and ideas somewhere between Vermont and New York City. So I went to law school.

Dun dun dun duuuuuuuuuh!!

It's not terrible. It beats a job in terms of vacations, I freelance for an indie webzine that doesn't censor me, and I can screw around on websites like this instead of do my endless homework.

Maybe this stupid JD will magically get me one of those fun jobs I keep hearing about. Or maybe I'm totally up #$@&-creek.
Maybe one in ten lawyers I've known were actually happy being lawyers. I don't know why; some of them were doing mostly divorces (sad, bitter, angry people) and criminal (criminal people) but others do corporate or business law which shouldn't be that bad.
I would think that being a corporate or business lawyer would be the most depressing type of work in the field. At least divorce and criminal lawyers get to screw people and ruin lives on a much smaller scale.
actuly the lost luggage dept it the pits people alwase pissed

i wanted to be a pilot, but then i relized there was more planning then just fly in and blow shit up (and more math then you can shake a stick at.

then i wanted to be a mechanical engineer, then i took a CAD class and it killed all my building/designing will.

now i want to be a guy who gets paid to make large fires....or a ninja, or a ninja on fire...

only thing i can sit here thinking of dream jobs only semi realistic one i can come up with is level designer for games. screw the programing, balancing weapons and plot. give me a IC, WC or any RTS map editor and i can have hours of fun.

short term wise security gaurd since sister was a security gaurd at pro basketball stadium and said it paid decent, if you dont mind getting punched in the face which i dont to much. and might as well get something out of 4 years of HS wrestling. only downside is if someone pulls a knife or gun i will be the first one running.

I decided that I wanted to be a voice actor at around 15. It wasn't until I turned 17 that I decided I wanted to be a radio announcer. A few months ago, I entertained the idea of becoming a martial arts instructor. Maybe I will be one when I'm in my late 20's/early 30's. Seeing as how my life has yet to truly begin (I'm going to college next year), I think I'm pretty well off.
