To be honest i really dont think that "Are you what you always wanted to be?" a good question... we humans just tend to change our ideas as we get older. for example i really really really wanted to become a pilot at the air force but i just failed at the exams (not to good taking orders they said... bloody troop and their orders...), so then i asked my uncle what is good to earn good money fast he said became an mechanical engineer in a good uni, i had good grades so i jumped on the idea... 1st year just sucked (to many booze, w**d, etc.... good times...but...) i passed with good grades but it just didnt feel right to me to be studying when i could be flying. 2nd year starts i meet the girl of my dreams we get together, now i cant see myself at the air force... and she is studying to be an engineer too so with some luck we will have a good life and even have near by working places. So for now all i want is to have a good life not work to hard a nice place to live and a couple of kids :p and you see i am only at the 4th year, much can change but i tell you, dont be afraid of changes cause it is just natural to happen.

that being said

I WILL TOTALY BUY MYSELF A LITTLE PLANE WHEN I HAVE THE MONEY!

*sry for bad english

I really, really want to get the hell out of high school (ugh...three and a half years left) and on to my career; I understand the importance of some of the traditional classes (math, English, science) but the electives I have to take are terrible and I have absolutely no interest in them (mind you, there is not an elective in the entire school I would enjoy taking). Not to mention, the closest class to a computer science field that we have is fucking Beginning Keyboarding, I kid you not. And I'm not one of those flunkies, I've gotten straight A's every single year of my life, with the exception of 2 B's in 8th grade. I have over 100% in 3 of my 7 classes for this first semester of high school. I just don't like it, not one bit. People suck, teachers suck, classes suck.

As soon as I get out of high school and into a computer science field (nerds may not be cool, but god damn they're almost always the nicest people you'll meet) I'll be happy. At the same point, I love my parents dearly and don't want time to fly by, I pray to God they remain fortunate enough to live a long life, and I hope they get to see me achieve my goals. High school is damn boring, but I try to spend every minute to its fullest.

I always wanted to be a police detective and in truth I'm really contemplating pursuing it.

I haven't grown up yet... Does 17 count as grown up? I wanna be a sound engineer. Or Iron Man.. Lol
I wouldnt define grownup as how old you are, but rather how mature. Can i ask what a sound engineer is? I've never heard of it.
Sound engineers or Audio Engineers work with sound (obviously). With bands, movies, theatre, that sort of stuff. It's pretty intensive work. I'm trying to get in to a school in Sydney but it's a huge commitment to up and move, so I'm trying to find a suitable course at the uni here in Newcastle. Does that help?
I'm going to Newcastle Uni this year! Nice to meet another Novacastrian!

When I was 6 I wanted to be a Doctor

When I was 12 I wanted to be a marine Biologist

When I was 14 I wanted to be a Forensic Scientist

When I was 17 I wanted to be a Politician (everyone thought I was weird)

I still kind of want to be a Politician/Writer/Psychologist/Religious Studies Lecturer

I'm doing Psych next year, we'll see how it goes.

I know what you mean. Im half a year away from graduating form high school. But unlike you, I am actually kind of dreading it. I mean, Im gonna move to Chicago for college, and it s going to be damn hard to stay in touch with my friends. A change like that is kind of scary.
