The Only Two Things Im worried about are.
a) Game wont arrive 11.11.11 in my house as its My Country stupid Holliday and its Friday.
b) 150 Dungeons? Srsly? I mean Dungeons Bethsada, not random caves one meter deep with a chest and two ruffians. You say there are 150 different dungeons you better show them real and nice.

I would buy it even if it would be on Oblivion engine with no additional technical changes or anything else. As long as there is a new map/world/quests.

I don't usually get annoyed by repeat threads, but these what if thread's on whether or not Skyrim is going to be good are getting to me. Honestly, you've probably already made up your mind on whether or not you're buying this and until you actually sit down and play it you'll never know if it's good or not... So no I do not spend my waking hours worrying about whether Skyrim is going to be good or not, because frankly everything I've seen and the people I've talked to who've played it tell me one thing that this game is going to be awesome, especially for fans of previous bethesda games. Sorry I don't mean to sound mean when it comes to these threads, I just find the whole premise of what if's very-very stupid.

I'm not trying to deal in what-ifs. I was just curious about people's history with Bethesda and if they are worried about Skyrim about that.

Really? You felt like you could only play Oblivion and FO3 for short periods of time, OP? That's odd, seeing as how I once spent over a dozen hours in a single sitting with FO3, but whatever.

OT: No, I'm not worried, but I am not letting the hype get to me. We shall see how good it really is when it comes out.

I'm worried it will have massive bugs, as all their games do, and I'm worried it will become dull and repetitive quickly like Oblivion.

Skyrim has already beat any other game coming out this year in my books.

Why?

I'm a modder.

Games like Fallout 3, NV, Morrowind, Oblivion and now Skyrim are where I get to do whatever the hell I want.

Want a massive castle to put mannequins in and show off my armour and weapons? No problem i'll bloody make myself one.

Want some shiny new armour? Give me a couple of hours.

New weapons? Doing that too.

Flying Mounts? They were made for Oblivion (Akatosh mounts for those that never heard of them, you can also get a pegasus mod that flies) so we'll have them in Skyrim.

I get 600 - 1000 hours+ out of those games with mods and all kinds of crap you can do to the games.

Thats a hell of a lot more time than I get out of nearly every other game I got his year combined.

It doesn't matter if the gae is fantastic or sucks giant hairy monkey balls. I can change things to how I want them to be if I don't like them. I can add to it, constantly.

I still play Morrowind thats now modded beyond recognition. Fallout 3 no longer looks like the Capitol Wasteland. New Vegas is no longer a desert.

The joy of games like that is being able to do whatever the hell you want ..... unless you are on a console then you're stuck with the basic.
But then you're not playing the game you bought and it should probably be called something else as the vision of the game from the developers and story tellers that intrigued you enough to buy it has now been overshadowed and overpowered by taint.

I will play the game through normally like I did with the other TES games and Fallouts.

It's after that I get to modding.

It's the main reason I do buy games like that.

Don't get me wrong, the TES and Fallout 3/NV were okay games but being abe to add my own content is what makes them fun for me.

There is only so many times I can use the same weapons or live in the same houses or wear the same armour before I want to create my own.

Being able to do whatever I want in a game turns that game from okay to great.

This is why I don't buy many games at release and wait for price drops, they just don't last me. Games I can mod the hell out of keep me going for a damned long time.

There is only so many times I can see and do the same things before they bore me and Bathesda are fantastic at giving us the freedom to make our own content.

Skyrim is no different. We've already been told they are releasing the tools for modding so after the game has been played it will be time to add my own content.

Call it tainted call it what you like but modding takes a game that gives me 50+ hours of fun and turns it into a game that gives me over 1000+ hours of fun.

I still spend a bit of time on Morrowind every now and then due to extra content people bring out for it still.

I'm not going to say all mods are fantastic. As everyone who uses them knows you do get a lot of low quality ones released. Retextures of armour and weapons that make them look awful and the like. But you do get quite a few gems that improve your experience quite a bit.

I'm a bit worried, but more so on the technical aspect.
Bethesda isn't super great with making games on the PC work. And this year it has been attached to two really botched PC ports, so I'm a bit worried that Skyrim may follow suit and the PC port might go tits up.

For me there is no "hype". I've seen and heard enough to know that Skyrim will be awesome; t'is just a matter of waiting for 11/11 to roll around...

Game looks absolutely gorgeous, and actual gameplay seems vastly improved upon compared to the rest of their library. Bugs? Yeah, sure. Bugs in games are no more far-removed from reality than crust is on bread. In this regard, I feel Bethesda catches a lot of flak for their games for no -real- reason. Played hundreds of hours on Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3, and I can't expressly recall a game breaking bug (save a few sparse ctd's from outdated video card drivers); lesser bugs are there, of course, but every game has 'em... certainly won't stop the masses from scooping up BF3 and MW3.

Honestly, I have to assume that people who doubt Skyrim have actually read or watched anything... OR, worse yet, they simply don't want to like it in the first place.

Well I have only experienced the bugs that come with the scope of games that come with bethesda titles, but still have thoroughly enjoyed all of them so no this looks like an improvement from everything they've ever done.

I'm confused about all the posts talking about how buggy Bethesda games are. I've played all the ES games, both NEW fall outs, and I have never encountered any substantial bugs. I think the most irritating one was in New Vegas, when kris kristofferson's character's speech over the loudspeaker in the NCR's base kept getting cut off in mid sentence. So annoying. I eventually just went to youtube and listened to it.

Never anything game breaking in Oblivion or FO3. Anyone have examples of these much-hated bugs?

I've been worried about Skyrim ever since they said they were developing it primarily on X-Box, I very much hope my worries are unfounded.

I was badly let down by Oblivion all those years ago, so I think my expectations are properly adjusted by now. Thing is, I still enjoyed it and played hundreds of hours. The Elder Scrolls just has the right formula for me, even if there are glaring shortcomings. Worst case (likely) scenario, I'll enjoy Skyrim even if it is somehow worse than Oblivion.

And lest we all forget, Morrowind's story wasn't all that groundbreaking. It was the world and the way it was fleshed out that blew us all away, and made Oblivion such a disappointment. That is what distinguishes a good Elder Scrolls title from a bad one. The only reason I have any hope for something better than Oblivion is that Bethesda seems to care about crafting an interesting world this time around.

I have Skyrim pre-ordered and I won't regret it.

I am not worried i loved oblivion. the only thing that saved me from it was my ****ing laptop breaking down. Skyrim looks awesome and if bethesda falls like bioware and blizzard gaming will be dead for me. the only thing that can redeem bioware is me3. but back on topic Skyrim looks awesome and if it is just like oblivion but better looking and with dragons who gives a **** certaintly not me. The only (sorta)bethesda i have had glitch problems with is fall out new vegas. and only my ps3 freezing other than that no bugs 4 me. I think skyrim will be a game worthy of my money and nothing but seeing it is terrible will change my mind.

Hell no.

Why? Because I'm going to put off playing the main storyline. Now, the side quests is what I want.
