I kept on hearing people say how difficult the water temple was. I had never played Ocarina of Time in the N64 era (I skipped the console generations between the NES and the PS1) so I was ready for something really difficult and maddening when I got there in the 3DS port of the game.

I kinda got stuck for a bit on one puzzle, but I figured out the rest of it with minimal effort. Perhaps the 3DS version makes it easier to look around or has a better map or something?
Most of us were reasonably young when we played that game. Puzzles are harder when you're 12.

Assassin's Creed 3's whole bloody storyline. It just went on and on and ON! Ubisoft came out and said "Hey guys! We know the story was shite last time so here's a good one! And one that will wrap up the story!" I was legitimately angry when I got to the ending scene. And shocking nobody, Assassin's Creed 4 was just announced. I for one will not be buying it. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Fool me three times and I need to go sit in the corner for some critical thinking. But fool me a fourth time sirs? Oh no, that you shall not do!

I remember when I played Dragon Age Origins for the first time, fighting my way up the Circle of Mages' Tower killing demons left and right having a grand old time. Then I met the Sloth Demon and my team was sent to the Fade. I was excited to explore this strange, surreal dreamscape that the game had hyped up so much up to that point, shrouded in mystery and legend. What amazing adventures would await me there?

...Only the worst, most tedious, drawn-out, and downright most frustrating part of the game. And to this day it's the single thing about DA:O that makes me think twice about replaying it.

Have to agree with the blighttown comments, my frame drop there is unnoticeable 90% of the time, and without that it was an annoyance but nowhere near as bad as the Tomb of the Giants. Pinwheel servants on the way in, giant skeletons when you get there and in the final room, enemies that are pretty much a carbon copy of the boss you just fought and tiny skeletons that inflict you with toxic (so damn annoying) swarming you.

Also, OOT water temple, but I think that's a case of it becoming such a big thing and me playing the easier 3ds version. I can see how at the time it was a ***** to do.

And others... pretty much the whole of Skyrim. That feels horrible to say considering how much I love that series, but I just don't like the layout and style of skyrim. Cyrodiil may be generic fantasy 101 but it's a damn sight more fun and interesting in my eyes.

F.E.A.R. 3, or stupidly named F3AR. The entire game. Complete disappointment. I loved the first two games, especially the expansions to the first F.E.A.R.,
I actually thought the combat in that game was the best in the series. But everything else--story, horror, atmosphere, design, content level--was mediocre at best. The story in particular was like the ending of ME3...if the nonsensicality affected the entire game. I loved how the two most important factions in the story and one of the two main villains are not even mentioned.

The funny thing is the multiplayer modes were actually scarier because Alma could not only surprise you, but those jump scares could actually hurt you (thus avoiding the FEAR syndrome someone complained about earlier). Did they integrate this interesting idea into the main game at all? Nope.

New Vegas in... well, New Vegas. After all the hours I spent wondering around D.C. in Fallout 3, I thought New Vegas would be more than 3 screens. I swear there were buildings in the game that had more space in them than the city of New Vegas did.

Blame the consoles ram limitations, as originally this was planned as a much more massive area with a lot less doors to break it up. Modders are working on restoring it, they've finally restored Freeside, but Vegas is going to be a pain. Still, Freeside restored is awesome.

That one level in Thief: Deadly Shadows. It takes place in an old asylum. I think it was called 'Robbing the Cradle' or something similar.

It was supposed to be incredibly scary.

It really wasn't. I liked the way the lights would flicker when the monsters got close, but otherwise, meh.
I kind of felt underwhelmed by the cradle. Granted, I'd heard so much about it by the time I got around to playing it I suspect that had a lot to do with it.

I liked Bioshock but after I played it, a lot of people told me how scary it was. I feel like I was playing a different game. Sure, it was atmospheric but very few parts were scary.

Heard the same about Dead Space. Then I played the first half hour or so of it. Kept wondering when the scary part was going to show up. Never bothered to buy it because I heard the entire game is like that. "See that monster that looks really dead. Guess what, it's not. Just shoot it now. A lot".
