All songs posted in this thread pale compared to the majesty of this masterpiece. [http://soundcloud.com/giantraven/track-04]

Honestly, I see little musical brilliance in music created without the use of any real instruments with a drum sound which sounds like it comes from an 80's action movie.
If you really can't see the musical value of a piece of music created synthetically, then you have an incredibly narrow minded point of view when it comes to music. Hard work still goes into it. Melodies and rhythms still have to be lovingly crafted.

I've always loved this piece from Schubert's Lady of the Lake, also a rendition of Ave Maria

Also the beautiful renditions of classical pieces in Master & Commander: Far Side of the World.
Particularly Boccherini's "La Musica Notturna Delle Strade Di Madrid No. 6"

Lastly, I was absolutely blown away by how AMAZING the music in Red Dead Redemption is.

AKA the music playing during one of the most beautiful moments in gaming (crossing to Mexico)

@2:35 The flare of trumpets and mexican stylings taking over is beautiful.

Yeah I would have to disagree. The song drags on way too long seeing as there isn't really much of a direction it's heading in, it repeats itself a lot, and there isn't really that much of a climax or crescendo anywhere to punctuate the song or signal it's end. As such, it's pretty underwhelming.

Compare yours to something like Skyrim's theme song, which has an approximately equivalent length

The song has a clear melody, one which which rises and falls in order to give a feeling of progession. It repeats it's main chorus only once, and then it adds to harmony in order to have a final great crescendo, trailing off afterwards to give the listener time to let the finish sink in. The end result is one where the song sticks in your head long after you've heard it. In contrast I can't even remember the tune of the Gurren Lagann theme song, and I was listening to it not 10 minutes ago. It has that little impact on me.
