The AR mission has you flying through green rings at diffirent angles. Do you think this could be a reference to the infamous Superman 64 game, which also involved flying through green rings?

That is as much a reference as jumping on enemy heads is a reference to Super Mario...

I see where you are going, but no.
Superman 64 was worse, far, far, far, far, far, far, etc, far, far worse.

These are just annoying to complete (the advanced ones anyway where I have to fly through a narrow tunnel for 10 meters or so without touching the ground which is near impossible, I hardly get into the tunnel at all... batfreak crashes to the ground or against the top of the entrance) >.,<

All I know is that the AR mission next to the museum kicks my ass.

I beat the first 4 AR challenges and got the better bathook, then promptly died, and didn't have it when I came back. I tried to redo the AR missions I did to get the new bathook, and now it is giving me these way hard ones instead. I just want my upgraded bathook back, any suggestions?

I just finished the last one and for me, the one you mention was the worst one. The others are pretty doable with a little skill, but this one was just blind luck for me.

Who knows. Maybe. It's possible.
What I do know for sure is that whoever decided to include them can suck on a bag of rusty nails. Can you guess what phrase will likely stick in my head for the next week or so?
"Augmented Reality Training failed."
And the best thing is, after beating the piss-easy ones I got an awesome gadget upgrade; after finally beating the ones straight out of hell, I got... a trophy. A goddamn PSN trophy. Screw you, game.

Never played that one, I felt bad enough playing 'Superman Returns'. But aren't they supposed to be doing the new Superman game?

There is talk of wanting to take on Superman... but how they'd make a Supeman game is anyone's guess. The twist of endangering civilians as a 'healthbar' was a great idea for the PS2 /XBOX game, but the game was still arse.

That's all you get for beating the hard ones? I figured it was a new gadget. Now I'm less motivated to finish them. The only reason I still try is because they are there in the city taunting me for being so bad at the game.

I will say that the AR sections helped me think more creatively when trying to get through the city quickly, especially when Zsasz calls.

At least you need the only first 4 really anyway... Right?
