I have the Xbox version and it was literally fine, so it might be unique to your platform, prolly already knew that though
There were no install problems on a platform where you don't need to install the game? Stop the presses.

It worked without any problems for me when I installed it through Steam... so sorry, I can't help you there...

How is the PC version? I know Arkham Asylum was a god awful port. Did they do a better job on Arkham City?
Arkham Asylum had a decent PC port, however they did improve Arkham City when it comes to controls. I tried going back to Arkham Asylum after completing Arkham City... I was frustrated at how bad it was.

The STEAM version was pretty bad, too. First, download the game, then decrypt it (WHY decrypt it? THERE WAS NO PRELOAD!), then do all the first-time launch touch-ups (which you can skip, if you know how), then you have to tell SecuROM your game is legit, and connect to the internet. Then the game launches, and the splash screen takes forEVER to finally come up, and when the game gets up, you have to then tell GFWL that your game is legit before finally getting to the main menu.

Whats funny is I didn't find this too inconvenient, considering some processes OTHER PC games force you to jump through hoops for. No matter, however, I beat the game with my PS3 controller and loved every single second of it.
Sounds a lot like gta IV, minus requiring a windows live account TO PLAY A FUCKING STEAM GAME!
You need Games For Windows Live for both games even if you get them from Steam... A pity.

Did you play Batman AA on PC? It was one of the best ports of recent times, especially compared to a lot of the other stuff that gets ported across and ends up running like arse now.

Yeah, I played it on both PC and Xbox 360 and let me tell you the PC version was crap in comparison. We shouldn't excuse bad ports, just because most others are worse.

Sometimes this happens with games that use securom DRM because of conflicting programs, that's probably what it is if you go to "my computer" and the drive seems empty while the second disk is in there. Try disabling any drive utilities like Daemon-tools, PowerIso, Alcohol 160%, etc, and also anti-virus software.
Its funny sometimes that they think Securom is a good idea too. I hope someone lost a job over this, i really do hope they end up homeless and eating catfood for the annoyance im going through.
Hey! What did I do that was so bad that I deserve being eaten by a homeless person?

GFWL and SecuROM are the reasons I'm not getting this game any time soon, will wait for some GOTY discounted version in year or 1.5 and get it for 10$.
Sorry, i don't like to pay extra for more trouble and since the game seems a step down from Arkham Asylum from what I've seen in different reviews and quicklooks I'm not in hurry. Batman or not, he can wait.

I don't know what your talking about I played the shit out of that game on PC and didn't have a problem at all, plus they added all the extras for PhysX users. Unless you are talking about the controls which i will admit would be better on a controller, but that's not so much a problem with the port as it is with the style of game that it is, not to mention its pretty freaking easy just to rebind them.

And just to add insult to injury, they print "Do not make copies of this disc" on the disc. Assholes!
