It sounds like it's been hyped up a quare bit though I can't really make any formal judgement as I haven't played it. Sure, "Dead Island" looked pretty swell from the majority of its trailers,
especially the theatrical one that got everyone going. Awk, I'm not saying it's a terrible game or anything of the sort; it certainly has its flaws and, trust me,
plenty of them, but I am currently enjoying it for the most part.

I never pre-order games. Pre-ordering is so lame and just a scam sometimes. My sister's boyfriend was telling me he never pre-orders any more because he did and they just released the content for everyone like 2 months later. Not to mention there really is no reason to pre-order a game ever. If I won't like the game on it's basic content, then I doubt this little bit extra will change my mind. Or if I do like it, the little bit extra won't matter.
Sure, I pre-ordered "Dead Island", went in and got it on the Tuesday after its release and they were completely sold out, despite me pre-ordering it so I definitely agree that there's no point really.
Unless it's special edition and therefore may have some snazzy little nik-naks. Of course, only if you're interested! The pen I got with "Dead Rising 2" is pretty crap quality but the looks/comments one receives upon using it in public is fabulous!

All these pre-order bonuses are just to get people to buy the game new and not wait to buy it pre-owned. They don't care about anything else but that sale.
The industry believes the pre-owned market is killing them. To which I say bullshit, I've been gaming about 17 years and there has ALWAYS been a pre-owned market for games. The industry is still here and doing better than ever as far as I can tell...
Just wait until the Game of the Year edition comes out with all the DLC and at about half the price of buying it on release. If a game doesn't have multiplayer then you don't even need to get it on release, it's not like you'll miss out on the community.
I would say that would be more the case in regards to pre-ordering Special Edition games. Usually that's the only reason I'd generally buy a game brand new or even ask to have one saved over for me unles I
really wanted it, like I did with "Dead Island" and the upcoming Tomb Raider game. Mind you, I'll have to brace myself for all these glitches and I think i've already been numbed by the constant story contradictions! That and I sincerely hope this is the last Tomb Raider game that they're going to be bringing out for the most part, lol.
Not sure what happened to the quote there...
