Arkham Origins worth $9?

If it's on the PC? Absolutely.

Regardless, I was really shocked by the sheer amount of hate the game got, I thought it was really, really good. It's not as good as Asylum or City, but that's like saying gold isn't quite as good as diamond. I also liked the fact that the game (at least to me) felt significantly darker and more grim than the previous Arkham games. I also contend it's the only Batman media (at least that I've seen) that made Bane totally awesome.
One piece of advice, don't bother trying to go 100% on the Riddler trophies. I won't spoil why (feel free to youtube it) but trust me, it's not worth it.

That said, I'd still recommend getting Arkham City over Origins if you've got the option (and haven't played City), even if City costs a bit more. Arkham Origins is solid, but it's an inferior clone of Arkham City, in all honesty, with a much less fluid/responsive combat system and a plethora of bugs. If you haven't played City and are at all interested in that kind of game, I'd very much recommend you check it out over Origins.
