The final episode closed off all the loose plot threads and solved all the problems though.
Plus as Futurama and Family guy have demonstrated, a show that is brought back from the dead will never be as good as it was because it doesn't have to try.
Dude, Family Guy was shit straight from the start. Futurama was starting to slide just a little in its last season before cancellation too, but I'd say the new ones are really great.

OT: I've been hearing rumors about a movie for years now, but it's great to finally get confirmation and a new season. Now if only I had a TV on which to watch this new season...

I am happy for this. To quote Flttershy.
Also now I should watch through all of it again.

I was doing so before I even knew about this.

Not true. We still don't know what Kitty, George Micheal, Maebe, and Tobais think a chicken sounds like.

That's awfully cynical. I think people exaggerate the quality difference between both shows before they were cancelled and after they were brought back. Family Guy's definitely a couple of years post-shark jumping, sure, but it was still damned funny when it first came back. Also worth bearing in mind, Mitchell Horuwitz is not Seth MacFarlane and he isn't Matt Groening.

Six seasons and a movie!

I want to be optimistic for this, but I just know its not going to be as good as it was.

Until I hear a studio and or a network (preferably cable) involved in this I wont raise my hopes too high but any news especially on this level is good news.

Eh. I never got into it. Pretty much all of my friends are ecstatic about it though, so its good news for them.
